A spell to freely control everything is.
This, or you simply didn’t chat with him enough to make him grant you favors. There is no greater force in a RP than bias.

Except that spell doesn’t freely control everything. It only conjured stuff, and at most a bland mixture of energy vaguely aligned to each of the elements. It was nothing compared to a spell that can effortlessly brainwash whoever the hell the user wants, and ignores the victim’s willpower entirely.

Notice how the orb’s movement speed isn’t stated.

The orb seems to not allow for any sort of saving throw whatsoever if a victim is hit. So if Diovoga sneaks up on anyone, the person is done for.

No saving throw? Use a Spell Mantle.
Someone sneaking up on you? I can sell you that amulet of ESP, and you’ll know of minds in your vicinity. Or you could take a ring of warning – that one will notify you of everything dangerous nearby, but, as a downside, can’t exactly tell you what’s the dangerous thing – only that it is there and roughly how dangerous it is.
You know of presence of the orb? I’m pretty sure the World’s Will can destroy it. The orb is probably perceived as pretty evil.

That’s not my point. If a player character, not necessarily mine, is hit by the orb, he or she should be able to resist its effects with sheer willpower and/or mental magic. Not to block it, but to resist it. As in, not immediately knocked unconscious, and there should be parts of the person’s mind that cannot be changed as easily.
Diovoga should not be able to just completely edit any mind with ease.

So, like… BC agreed that his brainwashing orbs can be resisted by willpower. And that his shadow soldiers cannot materialize inside a solid object and telefrag it. So it’s pretty much fine now.
And really, the TV Tropes page needs to be updated. Should we separate the trops into AC1, 2, and 3?

I think we should, so that people not in the know about earlier games don’t get confused about it.

Gonna give this a try and actually participate.
Name: Cyrix (No last name)
Age: 245
Appearance: That of a sand-colored snake due to circumstances.
Magic school: Augmentative
Spells of choice:
Combo magic: This works only amongst mages working together. By combining the power of Cyrix’s augmentative magic with another magic attack of any type, a new spell may be formed depending on the magic used with Cyrix’s magic. Cyrix serves as the conduit for unique spells.
Combined strength: This works only for normal types. Depending on the lucky item, Cyrix will transfer his very being into another ally, lending them his strength and mutating them temporarily into a form both will have to agree on in PM chat.
Transmutation – Doppelganger: By transforming into a polar opposite of the targeted character, Cyrix loses Combined Strength and Combo Magic to acquire their abilities and appearance for a set period of time.
Bio: Cyrix was born as a human with human parents. They abandoned him when he was still small. It was then that a mage couple took him in after finding him crying, alone. They raised him right and placed him into a school he wanted to go to after looking at the different types of magic. He figured if he could bolster the magic and non-magical attacks of others, new spells could be cast. This is where combo magic and combined strength come into play. As a means of defending himself, he learned how to transform into a snake with claws through practicing transmutation. Unfortunately, due to the fact that he was not trained in the art of advanced transmutation, he slipped up and the snake appearance became permanent. He was cursed, in a sense with being like this, with no way to reverse the effect. He had developed quick reflexes, claws and fangs, lost his legs and developed a tail. It wasn’t enough though. He needed magic to defend himself with. Learning about the doppelganger, he figured that if he could become a copy of someone else, he would have no problem walking around civilization. The doppelganger has a set time limit before mutation into snake form occurs. As a secondary effect to being a snake, Cyrix’s lifespan has been drastically expanded. He is now more than two centuries old and yet no one knows of his existence, post-change. He is not so much a mutant as he is a permanently warped human being. He now roams the wild, never revealing his appearance to civilization.

Technically, mutants as they were defined in AC2 will never exist in this game, because infernal energy and the True King of Hell doesn’t exist. Your character would probably still be human, albeit one warped by magic.

How can someone prevent themselves from being copied by Cyrix? I don’t particularly mind, but still want to know.

I’d suppose that Normals would be able to resist it based on their personal resistance.

It would be bad if he can easily copy the abilities of some really powerful villain.

Age: ?
Appearance: Same as Nick, but with all colors inverted
Magic School: Mental

Normal
Name: Renault “Ren” Wolfe
Age: 29
Appearance: Medium height, strong build without being too muscly. Tan skin leaning towards fair, with black spiky hair and dark blue eyes. There’s a scar over his right eyebrow, and he usually wears his hair so that it can’t be seen. He is most often seen wearing a comfortable shirt, a pair of black pants and shoes, a black jacket on top of the shirt and a thick leather glove on his left hand. The jacket seems to have a lot of pockets, and most of them are out of sight. He has two shoulder holsters, one concealed under the jacket, and the other visible over it. Both carry handguns. A shotgun is slung across his back, and he wears a concealed combat knife under the jacket. He is also seen wearing black sunglasses during action scenes when things get tough, and a silver whistle hangs from his neck.
Lucky Item: A star shaped ring on his right index finger. It seems to have a weird magical glowing effect that can be turned on and off at will, and aside from that, it is imbued with a spell that enhances his senses and reflexes during the night time, provided that the night isn’t a cloudy one.
Bio: Renault (alias) has a rather convoluted and obscure history. Not much is known about his past, or his family and associations, except that he was a law enforcer for some time. To his credit, he has a pretty good work record of nearly 5 years. To his rather larger account of discredits, he shot down a rather powerful man as he left the court because he was sure of the crime that he had committed, escaped after being chased by the police, broke into the police station and destroyed the records of his history, and thereupon has taken to busting up local gangs in methods that are way too brutal to be authorized by any welfare state. No one knows where he lives, or what he wants, and several failed investigations later, local police authorities have contented themselves with a declaration of his “wanted” state.
He’s known to be good with dogs, and supposedly has an attack dog (or more) and even raptors that he occasionally employs in his works. There’s a pretty good price on his head in the underworld, both dead and alive.
[I appreciate the pointing out of any discrepancies/mistakes]

So I’ve discussed this with Spirit, and he’s stated that TWA’s elementals are coming back for TR. This particular incarnation of them hold the name of “magic constructs”, or just constructs for short. They’ll have similar abilities to those from TWA – specifically, spontaneous generation from sources of concentrated magic and/or artificial creation by mages, varying levels of sentience and/or sapience, an immunity to non-magical attacks, inability to die from age, a lack of soul with which to maintain their existence after their destruction, and the ability to utilise magic in the same manner as human mages. However, rather than picking a single form of magic that they can use, they instead gain the ability to use any magical abilities from a single school of magic, again in the same manner as human mages. However, this does mean that the constructs can’t utilise magic from schools that they aren’t skilled in, as was the case with certain Cardinal elementals in TWA. Now, I want to ask youse guyses… what do you think about this?

The same limitations human mages have should apply to elementals. As in, no elemental can know every single spell in a certain school.

MAGE
NAME Justice Adlin
AGE 23
APPEARENCE: 6’2, Skinny, average strength, black hair, black eyes. Wears a grey robe with a belt and grey hood
Magic School: Mental
Spell of Choice: Suggestion (able to command the subject with one order. The order must have some reasoning behind it, for example “Your Allies are decieving you. They mean to use you then kill you. You must kill them first” Also, this spell may have deminished power on those with moderate to high will. It is a telepathic command, but can be ignored if it completely contridicts one’s nature, unless if the subject has low willpower. It also cannot work on those without minds or mental capabilities, such as Undead or Machines or mind controlled Humans. The spell can only send one command this way.)
OTHER SPELLS (he is not as proficent at these)
Read Thoughts
Detect Opposing Alignment
Confusion (mental attack that causes confusion in subject. Effectivity reduced by Intelligence)
Understand Language (by tapping into subject’s mind, he can translate their words easily)
BIO Insane and intelligent, Justice started out his life alone. In the small building he was forced to sleep in, he saw the evil in the world around him. He never knew his parents, only the man they left him with, a cruel millionaire named Victor Steele. Victor pushed Justice around and made him his servant. Justice grew hatred, not only for Victor, but for all the evil in the world. His method of dealing with it; by killing. He started by killing Victor and stole his money. He used it to buy his clothes and some supplies before donating the rest of it anonmously. He is a vegabond, with no home, searching for all forms of evil and destroying it. On his hit list; His parents, for leaving him with such an awful man. It is wise to note that his idea of evil is flawed, even those who accidently hurt others will be punished and even a small crime or one committed a long time ago will be punished by him. Also, he doesnt consider his murders to be crimes, just justice.
