“Really Nasuada and Noriar, stop fighting each other, it won’t get either of you any further in life. If you wish to fight each other you’ll have to fight me.” I say to the both of them as I’m standing up axes in hands. “Surprised I know your names? The longer you stay in that tavern the more you learn about everyone there.” I stand there to the side of in between the two.

I stand in front of Noriar and address him. “Think that blade and armor will be enough to save you if you continue to pick a fight huh? You’ll find out if you don’t stop.” I yell at him. “And I’m the hothead.” I think to myself. “These people make me look like an angel.” “That goes for you too Nasuada!”

There is no bodies other than in the well.
(Kahhrus)
The wood gets set alight! Dropping it down the well, a thud is heard as it hits the corpse. Nothing is lit on fire, though, as the fire doesn’t hit the webs. Then a corpse comes out of where you can’t see and lands on the fire, putting it out. A gigantic spider comes out from the direction it was thrown from and stares at you. It doesn’t do anything else, doesn’t try to climb up the well, or anything. Just stares at you.

I back away slowly and begin looking for goblin-y footprints, wagon ruts, signs of movement, or something that could point us in the direction of the staff, or goblins.

(Nah, by now it should be obvious where everything in this campaign is at.)
(Kahhrus)
It’s too late, the well has already noticed you. It catches you and eats you.
You find random footprints, but following them, they disappear after a while. Specifically as they head out to the seemingly endless stone.

I collect the dagger.
[Up until now I have three silver pieces, 4 gold pieces, a dagger and a strange shield, in addition to the rest of the junk in my pack.]
I head back to the others, and head up to the dwarven fighter. He probably knows more about this kind of thing. “What shield is this?” I ask him, lifting it up.

When Nathaniel walks up to me and asks me about the shield he has, I immediately take it from his hands and sit down to look at it. “Let me see, I’ll check it out.”
I inspect the shield to see what it is.

I scoff at the inconsiderate dwarf, and walk into the farthest house, and explore, looking for loot.

Appraise check. -1 because of intelligence, +2 because of dwarven abilities.
20+1=21. `
You discover that it is an adamantine heavy shield.
(+2 AC, hardness 20, bypasses 20 Damage Resistance, -1 check penalty, 20 lb., 50 hp.)
(Nasuada)
Despite your best efforts, the houses refuse to replenish their stores of items.
Additionally, again, despite your best efforts, no corpses magically appear out of the well.

I walk outside, and spend time picking up a rock, and repeatedly crushing a corpse’s head with it.

[Doesn’t adamantine bypass hardness not damage reduction? And have DR 1/2/3 for light/medium/heavy? x3 Also, I’m 100% lost, so unless the solution is to go back to the door or to throw a midget down a well, I’m just gonna stand about being useless.]

I hand back the shield after giving it back to Nathaniel. “Here you go.” I say to him before I tell him what it is.
“Well you know guys, I will want to go down the well and fight those giant spiders. If no one has any objections, I would like to see if I could make it down the well and give the spiders a thrashing.” I look around to see if they care or not.

.“Could I help?” I say, as smashing a dead body isn’t what one would call a good time. “I could help either with magic, or I could stay on the top and shoot arrows.”

“If someone could lower me down with either magic or a rope, I would be able to check out the inside of the well. I would prefer climbing down however.” I pull out my climber’s tools and start to fiddle around with them.

.“I have about fifty feet of rope that you could use. It should be long enough.”
I hammer a piton into the ground near the well and tie one end of the rope to the piton. I toss the rest of the rope down the well.

About a minute after you throw the rope down the well, the giant spider that you hit in the face with it makes a hissing sound, grabs the rope, and pulls it.
(1-50= robe breaks near top of well, 51-100= piton is pulled out. 1d100=68.)
The piton that you nailed into the ground wobbles a bit, and then is dislodged. It nearly hits you, then disappears down the well.

( I think they’re trying to use the rope to get down. I just destroyed said rope because it hit a giant spider in the head.)
