The great Ondan empire is expanding. You are a settler to a new land. There is a plan for the miles of ancient forest and grassland to be turned into just farms, towns and castles. For now, many settlers and adventurers will come to the new frontier, and attempt to make a new life for themselves. The king has granted you a portion of land in the new world. Today you arrived there. It is time to begin settling this new country.

You have a single settlement. It contains one building; a ‘lodge’. It functions as an inn and general store for a small planned settlement. There were no people here until now. You have a little raw meat, raw fish, seasonings and mead for food. You have your own equipment. You also have blankets, plates, mugs etc. for the inn part of the lodge. You only have enough coal for a few weeks, but a ship comes around every few weeks to deliver coal and other things. You also have a few basic supplies for the general store, including seeds. After the entire lodge is settled, the sun is still high in the air, and the boat is gone. You have chopped a small amount of fire-wood, and need to find something else to do.

1.Build a tool shed
2.Build an outhouse
3.Clear a lot
4.Hunt in the forest
5.Gather in the forest

You cut down a few trees, and make a few planks. You build an outhouse with a few nails and hinges from the store. You dig a small hole, and put a seat over it. In the morning you cook up some bacon and eat. You then walk around, cleaning the place. You cut some weeds and vines around the settlement, and need another thing to do.

1.Build a tool shed
2.Build onto the dock
3.Clear a lot
4.Hunt in the forest
5.Gather in the forest

Alright, I locked it. Also, someone needs to agree with someone else before another action takes place.

5 is slightly better I think. Won’t need a toolshed till someone wants them.

You gather berries and nuts. You spend several hours, and get only a pouch full of each. You go to sleep, and in the morning a ship appears. Only a single immigrant leaves the ship, and he walks directly up to the lodge. He has come with a bow and other basic supplies. He is a hunter and fur trader. He rents out one of your rooms at the lodge for 10 gold per night. He goes hunting and cleans the few rabbits and deer he kills. In the morning he goes hunting again. You cut some firewood and sort out the entire lodge. You need another thing to do.

1.Build a tool shed
2.Build onto the dock
3.Clear a lot
4.Hunt in the forest
5.Gather in the forest

You chop down a few more trees and make more planks. You use a few more of your nails and hinges to make a toolshed. This will be good if an immigrant farmer appears without construction equipment. The hunter shows up again and buys some seasoning from you. He cleans his kills and eats a little. After collecting 13 gold from him, making your total 23, you go to sleep. In the morning, You eat the last of your meat and a few nuts and berries. You only have food for one more day, but you can buy some deer, rabbit, squirrel or fox from the hunter. You do some work around the settlement, and need another project for the day.

1.Build onto the dock
2.Clear a lot
3.Hunt in the forest
4.Gather in the forest

You do the last of your building in the small space you have. You are a little low on nails. You eat the last of the nuts and berries for breakfast. You do some upkeep work, and decide to do more work on expansion. You are a little low on water, so you get some from a nearby river. What will you do?

1.Clear a lot along the river
2.Clear a lot near in the forest
3.Hunt in the forest
4.Gather in the forest

you explore in the forest and find a few fruit trees. You pick it, but most of it is not ripe. You head back, and eat almost all of the fruit. In the morning, you look out and see that there is another immigration boat. An immigrant family have shown up to your settlement. They ask you about lots for sale. they have brought nothing but their meager supplies and farming tools. You have to break the news to them that you haven’t cleared any lots. They regretfully board the ship again. you need a project other than keeping the lodge running.

1.Clear a lot along the river
2.Clear a lot near in the forest
3.Hunt in the forest
4.Gather in the forest

1. The river provides better farmland.

You begin clearing a plot next to the river. You chop down the trees and clear out smaller shrubbery. You don’t have horses or anything else you can pull stumps up with, so the lot isn’t worth very much. you buy some meat and eat dinner. In the morning you inspect the lot again and see that there is a small clear flood-plain for farming nearby. You clear out the shrubbery between the lot and the flood-plain. No ships come today. You need another building/clearing job.

1.Raise the frame of a mill
2.Clear a lot near in the forest
3.Hunt in the forest
4.Gather in the forest
5.Raise the frame of a barn

(You can buy nails when the next ship shows up.)

If we have enough, 5. If not, 2.

You raise the frame of a barn on the land. Another ship shows up. you buy needed supplies for 10 gold. The hunter pays you 10 for the room again, and sells some hides and feathers. He buys some construction supplies and tries to buy the lot by the river from you for 14 gold, a reasonable price for a lot with stumps and half a barn. You can just clear another lot adjacent to the flood plain to sell it to a farmer. Also, another immigrant showed up. A criminal, looking for a hangout. Will you let this armed rapscallion hang around your lodge, or will you turn him away?

(There is too much business to take care of today. You don’t have time for clearing or building.)

Accept the hunter’s offer, refuse the Criminal unless he y’know, tries to shoot us.
