Pax Draconis OOC [... blame their provocation] (locked)

Plot:

The realm of the dragons is in peril. It has always been besieged by the dark ones, but recently, the great elder dragon has simply vanished for some odd reason. To make matters worse, its almost time for the ‘Great Re-Awakening’ of the land

Luckily, there is an inheritor for this, but he is but a newbie, and by far too brave for his own good as well. Should he die…. the realm of the dragons will be lost and forgotten forever. But as of yet, he doesnt even know he is the destined king

Worse still, a darker evil group named the Ivalian Overlords has emerged. Should the riders die… thus, all the realms will cease to be.

Elemental And Destiny Realms:

Shandon

Shandon is a noble samurai that knows nothing about his heritage. Trained from birth to be a legendry blademan and spellcaster, he is vowed to following the way of honorable justice and warfare in all his deeds and actions. Long ago, he was borne of noble blood, but was delivered away from his royal family to live a quiet, remote life. This was done to protect him from the fate that was to come when he would be an adult. Now that he is an adult, he will quickly discover the truth about his royal lineage, slay a new evil force that is emerging, and become a legendry dragonrider fabled in myths and tales for years to come. He begins in a humble background in the ‘balance’ region, of where he encouters Gemfang, and will have a dream about a new rising enemy soon…

Innate Magics:

Heart – Golden Will: Shandon’s will cannot be broken. This also grants him incredible courage.
Mind – Truesight Power: This allows Shanadon to see the future. The greater the look foreward, the more draining this is.
Legs – Sonic Surge: This allows shanadon to run and maneuver like the essence of lightning.
Hands – Sting Aura: With a sword in his hands, he can infuse that sword to penetrate any kind of armor, and always critical as well.
Body – Megaheal: A special healing magic that fully remedies a lone body part as desired.
Lungs – Rune Flurry: A special non-elemental bolt that is guaranteed to do damage against just about anything that does impressive damage.

Gemfang

Tail – Fire
Details: This is a special slashing tale with some strength and speed. Its more than able to lash a massive number of times.
Feet – War
Details: Having hardy feet makes this dragon able to handle extremely rugged terrain. In addition to that, traps mean practicly nothing to this dragon’s feet as well.
Legs – War
Details: This dragons legs may be sorta slow, but he is more than able to handle incredibly heavy weights. This is vital knowing how often he may be carrying passengers.
Wings – Astral
Details: Astral wings, while weak, are very good for long-distance flying. They allow this dragon to maneuver with the best of the dragons out there. However, due to the weight from his war based parts, it takes notably longer for this dragon to reach its max speed and altitude.
Body – War
Details: The body has the best single element benefits for armor. Even piercing weapons have a hard time penetrating the scales of this dragon, but this slows him slightly.
Neck – Fire
Details: Having a fire based neck allows for some flexibility, along with being able to handle pain very well. This element here is vital to support his head and body, as war would make him slow and bulky,
Head – Astral
Details: The astral head allows this dragon to be a powerful spellcaster. It makes the rest of his body resilliant to magics as well, but it serves to make his head powerful but lightweight.
Heart – Fire
Details: This dragon has the best stamina for a lone element! In addition, this heart can take even the most extreme physical punishment possible, and still keep on beating!
Mind – Astral
Details: The astral mind is immune to mental powers, and makes gemfang extremely strong willed. Not even psychics can dare to compare to the intelligence of this dragon as well!
Muscles – War
Details: Gemfang’s muscles are simply incredible. By himself, he is so strong that he can vanquish whole armies just by himself! Further, he is able to carry loads that would astound even other dragons!
Blood – Fire
Details: This fire blood only exacerbates his stamina advantages. Thanks to such incredible stamina, he is able to withstand incredible pain, and it gives him fearsome endurance as well!
Bones – War
Details: These bones are extremely tough and durable! They are virtually unbreakable, let alone the support they give for flight. However, their weight tends to bog the dragon down in spite of having good wings.
Soul – Astral
Details: The spiritual essence of gemfang makes him a very strong willed dragon that has the best single element defenses vs magics! Not only that, it makes him immune to instant death in any form.
Lungs – Astral
Details: Astral lungs are powerful respiratory lungs. This dragon is able to gulp tons of o2 and store that internally. He can even release that o2 as desired into his body.
Eyes – Astral
Details: Due to this dragon’s ability to even see supernatual and invisible things, reguardless how well they try to hide, these eyes are simply the best in existance save possibly techno.
Mouth – Fire
Details: This dragon can shoot high power rapid fireballs at things, doing well versus both enemies and buildings alike!
Ears – Astral
Details: Astral ears are very sensitive and fragile, but allows dragons to hear even the slightest noises at incredible distances!
Claws – Fire
Details: Fire claws are great at slashing and has good strength, unlike war claws that are strong, slow, and have piercing potentials.

Gemfang’s age is about 200 years old.

Bio:

Gemfang is a freewilled dragon often venturing wildly throughout all the lands. This dragon has a great noteriety to get not only itself but its riders in deep trouble most of the time. However, underneath this predicament, gemfang rarely if ever looses, especially in defense and long-winded battles. Its one of the better candidates, infact, to be the champion dragon the elders speak of, especially as nobody knows the origins of this dragon.

However, its also deemed the least likely candidate to be the dragon in the legends to ascend to ultima status, especially due to its carefee attitude and insanely leniant ways. But… oddly enough, it seems to always at least meet the minimum requirements for any trials that it may encounter, making it a very asupicious dragon, especially amoungst the more senior dragons.

Main Parameters:

Gemfang is extremely powerful and strong. He can withstand a lot of punishment and has simply incredible stamina and a mighty tolerance for pain. He is built for endurance situations and can fly extremely fast and far without tiring thanks to his astral wings. His antimagic defenses coming from his soul make him a rather challenging match versus just about anyone, infact. Consequentially, gemfang is built to handle extreme combat and endurance situations. His will and personality is immune to psionics as well, making him a very carefree and intelligent dragon thanks to his astral mind.

If there is any real weakness to this form of dragon, it would be his high vulerability to most physical status conditions and battles from many of the more devoted elemental dragons presently. The only real elements that keep him from such are fire to resist cold, and astral to resist magical losses, though, all this battle readiness causes him to need notably more food than other dragons as well.

Its a very old RPG. I decided to give it a revive in hopes to salvage it here.

Now some questions. Please try to answer them all at once, unlike what you usually do. It is very irritating to me when you do that.
What are the dark ones?
What is the ‘Great Re-Aeakening’?
Is this inheritor a NPC, or a player character?
Who are the Ivalian Overlords?
Could you make this look less extremely complicated?

Well, for one thing, don’t make it all about your character being some prophesied hero person, we generally don’t like that. We also don’t like invincibility.

Oh, and you should show us th signup sheet with explanations about all the stuff. And you say it is a very old rp? Every single post on that forum was made by you.

Oh, and I for one generally dislike Black & White Morality.

For the player, here are some specific things that I find bad still:

Heart – Ying/Yang Aura: This allows Shandon to increase his strength and/or endurance, causing a target enemy to reduce the opposite value as well.

That isn’t how Yin (there is no g) and Yang works. That would be more like draining.

Mind – Truesight Power: This allows Shanadon to see the future. The greater the look foreward, the more draining this is.

Too OP/UP. If you follow the arrow of time view, then you can just say what Shandon sees and it is going to happen. If you beleive in the time tree veiw instead, then there isn’t any way to know whether the reality would take that fututre.

“Sonic” means relating to sound. Lighning is not sound, it is electricity.

A PLAYER… not saying I will be the one, I am just more likely.

The great re-awakening would have been the elder dragon passing on the power of ultima. However, he died too early.

That doesn’t change the fact that your dragon is basicly the Morgan Freeman of dragons. He is god, we all know he is god, he just doesn’t admit it.

The person running the game should NEVER be the main character. Ever. By running the game you should have no chance of being main heroman.

Calling them Overlords doesn’t help. Describe them.

Dragons are meant to be almost invincible save a few weaknesses in this rpg. However… there is a key weakness – their masters. Kill the master, the dragon dies as well. And vice versus in this aspect as well.

Mind- Blankness: When one enters this mans mind, they are trapped within an empty mental abyss that does everything to prevent escape…Is still escapable though, especially so when someone is fighting this man when the mind-read is taking place.

Legs- Steady ground: Despite all efforts, it is nearly impossible to deal a crippling blow to this mans legs. Trying to knock him to the ground is also difficult to do.

Hands- Dark strength: This warrior has unbelievable strength, being able to smash his way through most armor easily.

Lungs- Poisonous breath: The last ability this man has. With this he is able to exhale a thick poison gas that effects most of his enemies. (Exception is those who have some holy power)

Doom gave me an interesting idea. Would it be possible to be just a person with no dragon who is more powerful than any player characters dragon, yet at the disadvantage of being just one person?

And can said character be sided with the Dark ones? I like to be evil.

The Unbound is a creature of pure evil. It’s eyes glow red, and his skin dark as shadows. He towers above most men at a height of 8 feet 11 inches. His armor is made of solidified darkness, and is very powerful. His weapon is a 10 foot long sword made of dragon’s bane. As a result, his blade damages dragons much more easily, and weakens them on strike, on top of it’s ability to ignore a dragons resistance to physical damage. The blade is, though, weak against non-dragons. It is said that he was made in the darkest corner of the most vile, evil land known to man. If this is true or not doesn’t matter though, his only reason to exist is to hunt dragons to extinction.

Heart-Heartless:Through means unknown, he does not take more damage when hit in a vital area.
Mind-Paralyzing Gaze:Should he lock eyes with his enemy, he can paralyze them. This includes dragons.
Legs-Climber:He can climb almost faster than he can run. He uses this to help him scale dragons and attack vital points.
Hands-Dragon’s blood:His hands have been drenched time and time again with the blood of dragons. As a result he has gained some of this power, including greater endurance and strength.
Lungs-Absorb soul:After killing a dragon, he is able to take a deep breath and absorb their soul. With each soul he absorbs he gains a small portion of that dragon’s knowledge, strength, endurance, etc. This power is new to him, and he has yet to experiance the results.

I am the slayer of dragons. I can kill a dragon easier than I can kill a man, and I intend to kill them all.

So mastercheif, will your character murderize the hell out of mine if we meet? Also, I think I’ll help Dev think up a PROPER bunch of plot twists and such. Insanity=creativity in my book!

Here’s some tips:

Balance isn’t an element. (Actually, technically speaking, none of them are, but what I mean by this is that you really can’t have a realm with it as the main ‘elemental theme’.)
Ice can be put into water.
War isn’t an element.
Mystic isn’t an element.
Astral isn’t an element.
Hell can be put into either Ivalice kingdom or Blazargon.
Techno isn’t an element.
Ultima isn’t an element.

Have you got a signups sheet at all?

Your dragon is invincble, your guy is the prophesised hero person who will be doing all the work. Fix it.

Please explain what the motivations of the Ivalian Overlords are.
