Each area is simply subdivided as communities, wilderness, and special areas. Thats all to it.

If one of a dragon’s comes from a new realm, it must face a challenge in the realm to unlock itself for each one. This ends with 3 dragons from the same realm.

Realms 101

There are portals to other realms. Thats the only way to reach them. But its always just the realms that relate to the one you are presently in. Balance leads to Ivalice, Pax Draconis, Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. Sometimes its a 1-way trip, in this case, Fire, water, wind, and earth are one-way. Explaining the discovered links now… and posting this above.

Known Portals:

Briallis leads to Pax, Ivalice, Blazargon, Aqueos, Voralis, and Gora Gora.
Pax Leads to Briallas, Aqueos, Voralis, Celestis, Rejonis, Myrthanthia, Astradia, Chronathius, Cybrexus, and Promethius.
Ivalice Leads to Briallas, Promethius, plus the areas Pax doesnt lead do.
Promethius ONLY leads to Ivalice and Pax Draconis. Such portal should only be used very rarely, and vice versus.

Ivallice only knows paxs’s balance gate and vice versus. But each knows all their realms portals as well. These are all the natural portals that are known presently.

Shandon

As shandon was walking to the main briallan community, he noticed a wounded dragon that seemed to be flying towards the same place. Examining the dragon, he noticed a symbol on the left leg, as if this dragon was destined to him, especially as he had the same crest. Using megaheal on the dragon, he realized this was no fluke.

After a little conversation, they decided that they were meant for eachother. The dragon was to meet in the village anyhow, assigned to him in a special enforcement ceremony that would bond them.

Thus, they proceeded together towards the main community.

The Dragon Wielder, AKA Anorin
Ivalice Kingdom, Lord Vashtuls chamber.
Hours ago

Inside the poorly-lit chamber (Which happened due to a younger member accidentally destroying the candle storage…oi…), lit only by two dying candles near Vashtuls stone throne. While Vashtul is sitting on the throne, his body is covered by a large blue hooded cloak. Across the room from him stands the dark warrior Anorin, who is currently holding unto the dead body of a slightly-known dragon rider. “Vashtul, I have done yet again what you have asked of me. How much more must I do until you give me what I have asked for?” Anorin spoke in the voice of a noble, brought down by some incident. Vashtul however, replied in a strained tone. “Soon, just wait until my fellow fighters capture the realms. Then you may get what I promised.” Anorin grew angered at this result, and smashed his hand into a stone column in the room. He then spoke in an angered tone, not caring about angering Vashtul. “You keep saying it will happen soon, but you continuosly deny me my rightful prize! However…I will accept this as the last promise, now I must go.”
“For what?”
“I drew the short straw on getting new supplies, so I must leave to one of the nearby realms to get them.”

Anorin
Briallas, community
Now

It was supposed to be a simple matter finding the correct store, but some problems popped up that prevented it. One such thing being a human samurai and dragon coming into town, forcing Anorin to hide and avoid their sight. He would attack them, but there was to many people around the area and to many potential damage to start one.

He even had to hide inside one of the shops to avoid them, which luckily was the one he needed to go to. He had the money to get the supplies with him, but something in the back of his mind was bothering him. What was that dragon rider doing here? Is he with the elders? That would have to wait, for now Anorin has to buy wax and food because of a fire accident at the castle.

Shandon

Shandon was greeted by some guards, and was ushered to a special private hut. Giving shandon some crescents, they told Shandon that he was of royal blood. But this didnt mean that he was the destined one. Exiting with him, they noticed Gemfang, scolded the dragon for disobeying the dragonrider custom, but told Shandon this dragon’s name and how he was to enter pax draconis almost immediately anyhow.

Explaining that gemfang was to be his rightful dragon, they gave him a map of Briallas and Pax Draconis, and that he would have to face three trials to prove he was worthy of this dragon. One for each element the dragon presently posessed.

Accepting this, Shadon took the crescents and began heading to the markets to gain his primary supplies.

Anorin

Anorin watched as the samurai was ushered into the hut, growing curious as to what is happening inside. Knowing better than to break in with that dragon around, he hid back in the shadows. Anorin then decided that Vashtul would probably allow him to get what he wants a little sooner if he dedicated himself to his job a bit better. Then again, fighting a dragon and his rider without studying them for long is a fool’s errand. Removing his armor to speak with them wasn’t an option, as the smell of dragon bone would still follow him around for days. Coming right out and trying to act friendly wouldn’t work well either, so the last option would be to be like a villian from tales. Anorin always enjoyed some banter those villians produced about the hero.

Anorin wasn’t going to climb his way on top of a tall building in the moonlight though, instead he leaned towards the direction the samurai will most likely be soon. Next, he placed one hand on the ground and the other was open-handed and spread out. Using his arms supernatural strength, he hit his hand unto the ground full force and flung himself high into the air.

To Shandon, it would look like a warrior just leaped over him and landed in front of him, creating a crater upon impact. To Anorin, it bloody hurt like hell.

The Unbound
I walk through the Briallian widerness dragging my blade behind me. I stop at the main community, hiding in the shadows despite my large size. I saw a dragon heading this way, and I will be the one to end it. Not here of course, the whole town would try to kill me. But when he leaves, I will track him. I will kill this dragon and take it’s soul for my own. I see the rider who came with it head into the markets, so I simply meld with the shadows and wait for him to emerge. I spent the last days tracking this dragon. Soon it will all pay off. Or a goddamn flying ninja will try to take my kill…

Shandon

So someone jumps in front of him, quite an impressive but standard trick. But shandon was by far too busy to care at that time.

“Stand aside. Or do I have to do this the hard way? I warn you, I can see a persons moves well in advance of them should I choose it.” Shadon said, drawing his basic ninja sword as he begins to walk to the intended market.

The Unbound
Perhapse here is perfect. I sneak through the shadows to his dragon. That guy who jumped in front of him is a perfect distraction. I pull out my blade as the dragon comes into sight. This dragon’s soul will be mine.

Anorin

After getting over the mass amount of pain, Anorin rises up and notices something behind the samurai’s dragon. However, he doesn’t care much about that right now. “Actually, I have something to tell you. Once your done with your business meet me back here. Also, your not the only one with things to do.” At this Anorin quickly runs back to the store he was at earlier, forgetting to buy the supplies needed. On his run back he accidentally knocks the Unbound down, unknowing of the creatures purpose.

The Unbound
“Idiot!” I hiss at Anorin. I get up and grab him. “I should destroy you…” my voice suddenly changes from angry to calm. “but I have buisness to attend to.” I toss him aside and meld back into the shadows. Now I have to be extra careful, don’t want the dragon to see me untill it’s to late.

[I absolutely hate it when someone says that a ninja sword is a katana. Ninjas actually use three different kinds of sword, not including sais. The kind that many people think is a katana is actually called a ninja-to. While ninja-tos were based off of katanas, there are a few differences. Ninja-tos are shorter and straght. Also, a katana’s blade is kept in the hilt by a peg of bamboo, so it could be easily dismantled. The ninja-to, being smaller, didn’t have this. Gemfang

It already did, and those astral eyes were able to even see supernatural things, so your attempt would clearly be in vain. Gemfang chuckled. “Soo… you think you can take me on? Think again” it said flying up into the air, catching Shandon, then delivering him to the right market.

Shandon

Shandon entered the market, bought some exploration supplies, then approached Anorin. “Cant be too certain who you can trust. Anyhow, hello.” He said, politely.

Anorin

Anorin had gotten up after being thrown, and went to get the supplies. In fact right when Shandon came in he could see Anorin buying enough food and wax to supply a castle…literally. He turned to Shandon as he returned, making sure to keep bits of annoyance out of his voice. “Hello again, please forget that act of…stupidity…I performed earlier.” Anorin then reached his hand out “My name is Anorin” Thankfully, using his real name wouldn’t have Shandon remember any possible rumors about his title. If it did, well hopefully the person wouldn’t attack in a populated area.

The Unbound
That idiot! I had tracked that dragon for days without being noticed, and he ruined it all! He will pay. And this dragon…he will pay twice as much. Not only saying that I cannot kill it, but flying away? I will destroy this dragon and absorb it’s soul. But for now, I watched Anorin.

Anyia
Briallas, near that village that everybody else is in.

A blue dragon flies nearby the village, very quickly. It makes a powerful gust of wind over Gemfang as it passes and turns to avoid smacking into the other dragon, then heads in the other direction from the village.

Shandon

He shaked hands. “My name is Shandon, regthful heir to the crimson vanguard. Nice to meet you.” Shadon said, calling for his dragon. “Sorry, I have some trials to perform to become an official dragonrider. You know how it is, always something to do – reguardless what it is”

Of the leagues out there, the crimson vanguard was the most likely to have the new ultima dragon. The overlords, thus, had decided that they would be the first league to be elimnated, and with good cause. It seemed that they had all been killed, but little did they realize there was one secret vanguard recieving special training. Shandon is that person.

Gemfang

Gemfang was clearly a very disciplined dragon in spite of his freewilled essence. However, he was also a curious and playful dragon due to his astral mind, always desiring to discover things. Anyia easily attracted him away from the others, especially due to the accident. Flying up to Anyia, he said: “Either I or you made that accident. But hello. Your interesting, clearly an ice dragon. I would share my name for yours, ok?”

Anorin

Then this means I have to slay this man. If the Elders get their champion, they’ll stop Vashtul and I wont be able to get what I need. “Hey maybe we should have a sparring match? One of those tests must be a battle, and you should get all the training you can.” Of course, I could always simply punch a hole through your chest and kill you right here, but what fun and honor is in that? I think this over again just in case, and decide to simply give him a ‘friendly’ jab that is hard enough to leave a small bruise later.

Anyia

“Accident? I could have sworn that I didn’t smack into you, but if I did, sorry. Unless by accident you mean almost collision, then I would blame it on both of us. Either was, I’m Anyia, who are you?”

She slowed down to a point where he could easily keep up with her.

Shandon

“I dont think so. For one, I am by far too busy. For another.” Neil said, seeing his next 30 seconds, executed a devious impedement trick. It would take him 20 minutes to recover, but at least neil had pulled a rather devious technique. Then he began looking for gemfang as it was time to head out.

Gemfang

“Gemfang. Sorry for the slow speeds, dont have elements like wind and electric, but I can sure fly for long periods of time. Problem is, my master is calling for me, and it seems there is a dragon hunter following me. May want to keep your eye out for suspicious characters.

I would advise you locate the ice realm. Hear there has been a lot of events in that area happening. May prove useful to build your elements there. Either way, I gotta go" Gemfang said, flying back to his master.

Both

Just a few seconds later, Shandon was mounted and flying. They were heading to a rather obvious place – Pax Draconis.

Anorin

Anorin realized he had to follow that man, if a surviving member of the gaurd escaped him… Well he might never get ‘it’. Following him would be a problem, Anorin would need a dragon to catch up and kill them. Thinking about this, he left town, then quickly ran back inside to collect the supplies he went for. He would’ve contacted Vashtul about this, but the syndicate didn’t have realm-breaching communications…

Syndicate subordinate: Dret

Dret was ordered to stay near the portal to Pax Draconis along with some others and block it off by any means. Dret thought of one plan, but it involved a large amount of butter and oil. To Alnorins unknowing luck though, Dret was at the realm portal that Shandon was flying to. “Dragonrider incoming! Lets take em down!” The syndicate members, including Dret, all prepared their specialized Scale-piercing crossbows and emergency transportation spells.

Anyia

Interesting fellow.

Anyia continues flying around in circles for quite a while, then lands in a cave in the realm that she’s claimed as her own.

Gemfang and Shandon

The crossbow barely missed them thanks to Shandon’s power. Odd thing was that it triggered automaticly when threats would emerge, and the portal was a clear situation of potential danger. Noticing them, a raging barrage of fireballs crushed the defenses, and Shandon had escaped thru the Draconis Portal.

Gemfang: Dang those imperials.
Shandon: Indeed. One of these days, a rider will be killed by them. Fortunately, There is a technological realm with powerful allies on our side. It would be an easy matter to make new portals if we locate warp crystals. But you know how rare those things are, right?
Gemfang: Better tell the Pax Elders then. We can really use a means to seal the imperials in each realm… problem is that Ivalice would always find ways around that.

They flew to the capitol of Pax Draconis – a realm that the imperials couldn’t enter, although the imperials couldn’t enter Ivalice either.

Anorin
Three hours later, in Vashtuls throneroom again

“However, he escaped before we could stop him!” Dret said to his lord right as Anorin walked into the room, an air of anger around him as he realized what Dret just said. “Who escaped?” He asked the underling, who was of lower rank than Anorin. “It was a dragon and his rider, oddly enough it looked like the rider was a…what was it…ninja I believe..? No matter, he wore armor from a distant land.”
“Damn, that was one of the crimson vanguard!”
At this Vashtul spoke up, his voice loud and commanding as before. “What? And you let him escape alive Anorin?!”
“Considering I was forced to come back with supplies, yes I let him escape.”
Dret attempted to sneak his way out of the room, as a way to avoid punishment. However, Vashtul saw him before he was out the throneroom door. “Dret! You aren’t getting out of this one easily. Expect to be cleaning the dungeons for a week from now on.”
“Y…yes Sir…”
“And you Anorin, you are to enter the realm of Pax Draconis disguised as a dragonrider. You will have to find…”
“How am I supposed to enter the realm of dragons when they block all members of the syndicate?”
“Actually, they never truly planned on us recruiting different species, you should be fine entering the portal as long as you aren’t wearing your armor.”
“Well I cant do that without…”
“I know what you want, but that is something we keep reserved for private use. You will have to take one for yourself.”
“Damn, how am I supposed to obtain a dragon?”
“Don’t play dumb with me, you know how to get one already Anorin.’

Another hour later, and Anorin was searching for one of the gates to the Fire realm. Not to go inside, but to hijack the crystal powering it; despite the defenses to prevent such action. If he got that…then he wouldn’t be trapped inside an armored shell any longer.

Shandon
two hours later, in the paxian elder complex

He had finally arrived. Being the first there, the elders were amazed someone would arrive already trained with a dragon. There was three elders, and they began speaking.

Eld1: He is already a certified rider, borne from a distant land.
Eld2: He doesnt seem to be the one destined the new ultima dragon. But you never know…
Eld3: Gemfang has unknown origins according to the arcane records.
Eld1: Shandon IS A CRIMSON VANGUARD! I recognise the special armor he wears easily. Such champions are the most likely to inherit the ultima dragon.
Eld2: Weren’t they all killed? Either way, Shandon, your goal is to power up your dragon. You and Gemfang have our blessings, and take this.

Eld3: The portals to our lands are sealed now. Only one with the rider crest can open the gates. Your goal is twofold. For every potential rider you bring to us, thats worth 3500 crescents. For each element you infuse your dragon with, thats with 7500 crescents. If you give your dragon three elements on all body parts, and kill the prime imperial overlords in each realm save this one and ivalice, we shall open the portal leading to promethius for you.

Eld1: There is hope. Neither side has located any natural gates save the balance gates and all the gates of their own realm. The promethian prophet has forseen this presently. But the Ivalians know this as well.

Shandon asked for advice.

Eld1: Scry indicates astral, war, and fire. Mainly an epic siege dragon built for endurance and long distance traveling. But flawed as he doesn’t have earth – So, Gora Gora will strenghten gemfang’s defenses, giving him the ultimate defense even for combinded elements.

Eld2: Hmm… you will definitely need wind on your dragons wings to do well with all this weight. But then I would go with dark wings to compliment the astral and wind elements in your dragon. Not only would it give your dragon better speeds, it woud make him much more stealthy as well – few would hear him coming.

Eld3: Head to the technological realm first. You will need quailty equipments if you expect to do well. As is, your armor and sword are precisely standard issue for your class. And good luck, as there are frequent robotic attacks in that place, highly likely they came from the imperials.

Shandon left, headed to the stables where gemfang was, then began flying to the Cybrexis portal.
