Fluff that isn’t important until when/if you leave the arena:
In a dark and distant future human life is nothing but a currency in which powerful megacorporations deal, machines of countless variety roam the streets, and twisted mutants roam the bombed-out wastes between the great Corporate Domes and the Free Domes. Humanity, as is its nature, has continued to push technology further and further; consuming every resource without regard for the Earth. Further away, ancient cities have risen; magical creatures slowly retaking the earth.
The Corporate Domes are ruled by a mysterious council, who use the tell-tale remains of the capitalist system to enslave the people. Metallic enforcers roam the streets, putting down gangs and executing those who have obtained that which is most prohibited: Free will. It is often suggested among rebellious circles that humans have become slaves to the machines created to serve them…
A great waste lies between the Corporate Domes and the Free Domes. After years of bombardment from countless advanced weapons, those who fled into the wastes have become mutated. Though their individual sentience is gone, they all share a link to an unknown entity referred to simply as ‘The Queen’. Few, if any, mutants know who or what the Queen is… But they follow her blindly, in a blind revenge against their former human comrades.
The Christian Faith, ever true to its nature as a bloated parasite to the human race, has expanded to seize power over the few ‘Free’ Domes. Declaring martial law, the priest-soldiers of the One True Empire are one of the most powerful military forces on the planet. Through a combination of genetic enhancement, advanced technology, and divine power; the One True Empire seeks to enforce its will on all of humanity.
As the One True Empire began to tap the divine magics of their own God, long-forgotten deities began to awake. The lost city, Atlantis, rises from the sea; and those who turn to the worship of the pagan gods began to seek its refuge. These people become Heroes; able to channel the power of the ancient gods and mythical beings which roamed the world before history.
This game will focus heavily on RP combat: Players will select a Race/Class, wage battle against various NPCs and/or players. Between each match will be a bit of ‘down time’, for selecting the next fights, sorting equipment, resting, and whatever else you feel like doing. Where else the game goes is up to the players. No numbers, no dicerolls; just clean (or dirty) RP combat.

Possessions: [None yet.]
Races:
Corporate Machines:
Administration Drone: A robot featuring advanced mental and technological abilities. While not nearly as strong as the other machines, administration drones are far more agile and have complete mastery over networked systems.
Enforcer Drone: A robot focusing almost entirely on militant aspects. They are incredibly strong and able to mount many various weapons; though they tend to be the slowest machines around.
Labor Drone: A very balanced robot. Capable of using most weaponry, while remaining relatively mobile; Labor Drones tend to be the most common robots manufactured, due to their lack of specialization. Of course, the lack of specialization could also be seen as a weakness.
Mutant Hives:
Avian: Mutants of the skies. Striking with a flurry of wings and claws; their flight and agility make them capable of extremely vicious hit and run attacks. Due to their lighter build, they are able to with stand much less punishment than most other mutants.
Terran: Mutants of the earth. Huge lumbering beasts, capable of taking and dealing incredible amounts of punishment. As with all physically powerful creatures, they suffer from a lack of speed and agility.
Aquan: Mutants of the sea. Incredibly versatile, these creatures often attack with flailing tentacles, poison stingers, and blinding acids. While they lack the physical strength and agility of their relatives, they more than make up for it with the ability to keep their enemies on their feet.
Priest-Soldiers:
Inquisitor: The Inquisitor lurks in the shadows, striking with precise and well-planned shots. Incredibly agile and capable of using both blades and handguns; the Inquisitor strikes deep into the hearts of the unholy. Despite their expertise and ability to fight at both close and long ranges, they are physically weaker than most of their companions.
Minister: The physically weakest of the Imperial Forces… And the strongest spiritually. The minister unleashes powerful shields and beams of cleansing light upon the battlefield. At range, they are capable of holding their own against the mightiest of war machines… But a single punch is often enough to take them down.
Exorcist: The righteous iron fist of the empire. Their bodies twisted by stringent genetic re-engineering and divine tempering; the exorcist can take on the most powerful of robots and mutants with his bare hands… Though, he’s seldom agile enough to use anything but the most basic of melee weapons.
Heroes:
Demigods: Blessed with the blood of the Olympians, these Heroes wield weapons of elemental fury while channeling the powers of creatures from throughout greek and roman mythology.
Pharaohs: Descendants of ancient royalty, these god-kings wield the fury of the Egyptian gods. Bending the Waters of Isis and the Light of Ra, these versatile casters provide powerful ranged support. Unlike most ranged units, they remain viable in melee combat as well.
Einherjar: Ascended warriors of incredibly strength; these mighty warriors wade into battle soaking up damage and felling the mightiest of enemies with their powerful weapons.
Powers: Magical powers are channeled through the use of various focuses. A focus will generally fit the type of spell: Divine focuses may take the likeness of a cross, while a lightning spell may take the form of a thunderbolt or a shield spell may take the form of a tiny tortoise shell. Focuses can be stored in ‘spellbooks’, inset into weapons or armor, or simply carried on the person… Though if lost in-combat, that spell will be disabled.
Weapons: The ability to use a weapon is mostly based on the compatibility: A large war machine is unlikely to wield a rapier effectively… While a minister will likely be too weak to use a maul. It is generally best to use a weapon that you are skilled with and capable of using for extended periods… After all, you’re limited to what you can carry.
Armor: More armor is better… Unless you lose too much mobility. Spellcasters can use armor without interfering with their spellcasting… Though they are often too weak to walk in any sort of heavy armor. Machines tend to use larger plates, welded to their bodies… Making them very durable, but making it hard to drop armor on the go.
Seeds: Mutants can only gain power through ‘seeds’ planted in their bodies. These cover both armor and weapons… Though they cause excruciating pain when implanted and take a few minutes to fully grow. There is currently no known way to implant seeds on anything other than an already mutated creature… Though if it were possible, the result could be incredibly powerful.

[…interesting. Very interesting. I hope to be allowed to smash things. How do we acquire weapons? By beating the life out of their former owners until they can’t keep hold of the weapons any longer? Note that by “weapons” I mean “body parts”. And also “weapons”. But mostly “body parts”.]
Name:
Godafrid Theothelm
Gender:
Male
Race:
Exorcist
Appearance:
Godafrid is massive; standing at upwards of eight feet in height and weighing no less than six hundred pounds, he resembles little more than a peculiarly strong-willed golem. His facial features are sharp and well-defined. The word “chiselled” comes to mind as an apt description, though not in the traditional sense, being inhuman at best. His skin is white as marble, adding to his golem-like appearance, and is occasionally broken by large nubs of hardened bone welded to the surrounding skin, particularly along the outside of his arms and down his back. Thick slabs of muscle act like armor around the tough base provided by long, twisted bones, stretched and reshaped for physical aptitude.
Bio:
Godafrid was born, ironically enough, to become a minister and smite enemies of the Empire with holy vengeance. To his parents disappointment, he was born physically gargantuan but spiritually weak, having severe doubts about Christian beliefs. To remedy this, he was sent off to become an exorcist, and the priest-soldiers of the One True Empire took delight in torturing him until his mind was numbed to all doubt and his body to all pain. Countless visits to government-run facilities for genetic engineering and so-called chapels of healing later, Godafrid was made into a weapon. His mind remained skeptical, however; the priest-soldiers feared that his doubts would eventually return and corrupt their creation. Sending him to die in the arena seemed to be a happy compromise between cruelty and prudence, and so that’s exactly what they did.

If you can see it, it can be smashed. When/if you somehow become super-powerful; you could smash right into the planet’s core. In theory. Very good sign.
…If you start running around melee’ing people with a severed leg…

Oh, awesome. And thank you.
Also, after a few battles, it would in fact be a rotting severed leg! Not as effective for beating people to death, but very effective for spreading diseases. Godafrid knows how to play the waiting game, when he’s not busy playing the beating-people-with-their-own-leg game.

Name: Peter Ghost
Gender: Male
Race: Einherjar
Appearance: Caucasian, 185cm tall. Black hair that appears to be almost weightless in the way it moves, accompanying a face that could be described as handsome, as well as eyes with amber irises. His bodily structure is one that, whilst being sufficiently muscular to put up a fight, provides a great amount of agility. In addition, he has a glowing white tattoo covering his chest that represents the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This tattoo acts as a focus for a nullification spell that binds his power almost completely, but becomes drained over time, turning from white to grey, and then continuing into black; once the tattoo is totally powerless, having turned pitch black in doing so, the colour of pupil and sclera switches completely, Peter’s hair turns perfectly white in colour, and his true strength is fully unleashed. Also, he obtains a faint white glow around his person.
Bio: Peter was born within one of the Free Domes of the Christian Faith, the son of one of the most powerful Ministers in the dome in question. Never really a follower of the “One True Faith”, however, he began to worship a large variety of pagan gods at the tender age of sixteen. Roughly three years of hidden worship later, he locked himself within his room and initiated a ritual that, over the next two days, would transform him into one of the almighty Einherjar. This absence did not go unnoticed by his father; at dusk of the second day, the Minister finally broke down the door, just in time to witness the final transformation of his son.
Horrified, the Minister immediately brought out a focus for a nullification spell and cast it upon his son, binding his power. He had been busy, too – suspecting foul play on the part of the absent teen, he had created the focus on the previous day, just in case. The newly ascended being bound sufficiently for the moment, the Minister took Peter to a nearby house of healing, where a more permanent nullification was tattooed directly upon the boy’s torso, forever marking him as an irredeemable sinner and defector from the One True Faith, before sending him to the arena to die as a being of evil.

It’ll be just like Dwarf Fortress.
Name: Jake Arnsley
Gender: Male
Race: Demigod
Appearance: About 5"9, tanned skin, a medium build. Green eyes and short, black hair. Usually wears a pair of blue jeans, and a black shirt. He has a scar running along the length of his left forearm.
Bio: Born in a Corporate Dome not far from Atlantis to a mother and father both in a rebellious gang, when he was twelve they tried to escape. Him and his mother made it out alive, but his father was unfortunately killed in the attempt. They didn’t make it without incident, though: his mother was bruised in several places, and had a bullethole in left leg, and he got that scar from a robot with a knife. The pair of them made it to Atlantis, where their wounds were treated. When he was 18, he stumbled upon a mysterious cult attempting to gain the power of the Gods. He joined to get the power for himself, and got it. When he did, he ran from the cult. After five succesful years running from them, they caught him and sold him to the arena.

Name: Soran “Chimera” Helios
Gender: Male
Race: Demigod
Appearance: Soran Helios was originally a typical brown haired man, although his hair originally started out a chestnut brown, the more he uses Chimera fire, the closer the tint gets to a fiery red. In the middle of his chest is a strange red symbol that first appeared when he gained his power. Not only does his hair change, but so does his features, his teeth grow larger and sharper, he gains bumps at the bottom of his spine, on his right shoulder, he gains the startings of a thick mane. Although this is what happens when he simply fights or burns something, he may transform into a chimera for a time when he unleashes his full power.
Bio: Born in the Corporate Domes, Soran spent his time there using his strange appearance to his advantage, taking out Corporate Machines in secret, while evading detection. Soran is a member of a resistance group who are in hiding, trying not to stick out in society, but they know their partners, and they all pledge to one day start an uprising against everything the Corporate stand for, in this group, Soran is known only as “Chimera” from his frequent use of the Chimera’s mythological powers. Before his power awakened, Soran always felt as if he was crushed by the Corporate overlords and their control over the human race, and wanted to rebel, then he was given the power to act.

Nimbus, it’s a full-pantheon that you represent; with different Gods equating to a set of abilities or a fighting style.

Well. We’re at 5 signs, that’s enough to start.
Meaning, when Nimbus gets his sign in; we’ll start.
Since it’s an arena setting (initially?), new people joining in wont be at too much of a disadvantage.

Name: Alex Baker
Gender: Male
Race:Pharoah
Appearance: Curly black hair, muscular, green eyes, tanned skin, around 6"5. Tends to wear shorts, with red, green and black symbols covering his entire upper body. Does not wear a shirt.
Bio: Alex was born in a ‘Free’ Dome, one of the domes that follow the ‘One True Faith’. Alex never believed in only one god. He thought that running an entire universe would be too much for one god to do. He had not told anyone when he turned to worship the Pagan Gods, and never did. Eventually someone saw him wearing an Eye of Horus amulet, and reported it to the Minister, who tried to ‘heal’ him of his ‘disease’. Alex was outmatched. Alex managed to incapacitate him temporarily, and go on the run. They eventually located him hiding, ironically, in a church. He was thrown into the Arena for his ‘crimes’ as it were.

Eh. My dad was trying to “fix” my laptop while I was asleep, so it’ll probably be an hour or so until I can get it working… And I’m not typing an opening post on my iPod, since it eats text.

Name: Sir Jective Von Parricide Du Function
Gender: Male
Race: Demigod
Appearance: Protagonist in question dons heavily volatile attire virtually indistinguishable from his immediate surroundings (aka camouflage-enabled) over a bulky body of metallic plates and writhing wires that, in mutual conjunction, allow him to withstand strong blows and unforeseen circumstances of yet another variety. Having the advantage of crystalline spikes sprouting as protection along his exterior, Sir Jective fights back even without knowing it consciously. As for his facial features… well, he has NONE at all- even the most rudimentary of human emotions is, although existent within the alien of a familiar, vastly concealed to yield surprise and mystery at every twist/turn of the landscape. Having knowledge of special techniques, he has also honed itself to a state of ad hoc apotheosis by the medium of transmutation causing him to have a calloused shell of diamond lining his interior of which radiates continuously intense bursts of strikingly blue light from his core.
Bio: Born and raised in the marvelous city of Athens as the only blood heir of a wealthy merchant, Sir Jective was treated to the most elegant of luxuries during his child hood and youth. Throughout his early years, he incurred minimal adversity and thus was content to procrastinate and order others to perform his duties while he waited for further fortunes to befall him. However, that was not to remain. Upon contact with the adult world, being separated from his family to to some internal conflicts, it seemed that as soon as his riches came into his life, he was denied of his heritage. Torn apart by his impromptu loss, he stumbled into a cycle of depression. Every day was to be hell for him… until the new war superstitiously came into fruition. Finding alternative routes to alacrity, Sir Jective brimmed with confidence at having an opportunity to regain the livelihood of which he felt was legally entitled to him, but realized he had lost. Negotiating with foreign scientists, compromising was made to elevate Sir Jective from the humble state physical normalcy to the ranks of the most destructive battle machines the world has ever seen… or will see. And that is where this story begins- now.
