Free For All (Mafia signups) (locked)

Most mafias play in the style of a large team of townies plays against a small team of mafia, with each side trying to kill the other by lynching someone every night and using their night actions, if any. So, what makes this mafia different? Why shouldn’t you go and play some other mafia? because, there is no teams. The goal, the only goal for every person, is to kill everyone else. Not excited yet? Well, you get to pick your roles every few days, you are allowed to PM people AND I’ll throw in events every so often for flavor. This game is: Free For All.

Rules: 1) forum games rules apply. (duh)
2) Pming other people is allowed. I won’t allow posting of pms in thread or sharing them with others through PM.
3) If you sign, be sure to actually play, or you might be modkilled.
4) Bold your votes and FoS/HoS by putting * on either end with no spaces.
5) If you die in the game, stop posting. You get one ‘bah’ post, and that’s it. The post must contain no information about the game.
6) If you die here, you don’t die in Real Life. Also, don’t take it personally if you get modkilled for breaking rules.
7) Editing or deleting posts is a problem. I will allow things such as grammar to be corrected, but editing vital information is not cool.
8) If you haven’t signed for the game when it’s started, don’t post.
9) No spamming, and don’t discuss this game outside the thread or PMs. YES, pms are allowed.

Roles:
Killer: Once this person may NK someone. The person can’t NK again until they change roles to killer again.
“If God had wanted you to live he would not have created ME!”
Doctor: Each night this person may protect one person from NKs. Can’t protect self or same person twice.
“I’m a doctor, not a miracle worker!”
Detective: Each night this person may investigate someone. Investigating discovers if the person used an ability, who they used it on, and any abilities used on this person and by whom.
“DOWN ON YOUR HANDS! FLOOR ON YOUR HEAD!”
Special roles: May be added later.
Events: Every 3 or 5 days, people change roles and get to chose which they get. They can’t have the same roles twice in a row.

Just to point out, why would anyone take doctor in a game with self preservation in mind?

Edit: What is with all these mafia games recently trying to look special with new mechanics that doesn’t make gaming sense. This honestly isn’t even a mafia anymore.

Let me point out some major flaws in your design:

1. As if scumtell isn’t already hard enough to find. You’re basically resetting your game every three or five days, just with less people.
2. There’s no point in trying to gain people’s trust if you’re just gonna switch roles sooner or later.
3. What dictates a win? A scum player could almost all players in the game, but has to change to a town role at the end because of your role switching restriction.
4. As you point out, there’s no reason to vote anyone other than for your own sole survival. You might as well just RNG modkill everyday, and there would be no significant difference.

This is not a hate post, I’m just curious as to what went through your head when you were making this game.

1) Scumtell? The point of the game is to kill off everyone else, there’s no mafia side.
2) well, a team of doctors could work together to protect each other, and then become killers and take out anyone they fear might try to NK them.
3) Last one alive wins. A killer gets one NK and that’s it. Unless he changes to another role, and then change back he can’t get another nk.

well, a team of doctors could work together to protect each other

How and why would they want to do that? There’s still only going to be one winner in the end. And how are they gonna plan it out if we’re not allowed to communicate outside of the thread.
