You open your eyes to see a stone structure around you, that looks sort of like a pavilion. As you get off of the floor and look around, you notice that you are on an island. As you scan your surroundings, you are able to see eight clearly defined areas.

KNOWN INFORMATION

To the west, you can see the ocean, and a cool ocean breeze comes from that direction.

To the south-west, there is some low-lying land, and what looks like a swamp or forest. It looks like it is thriving.

To the south, a large volcano is visible, spewing ash and dust into the sky. Instinct tells you not to go there for now.

To the south-east, a desert sits next to the volcano. It looks as dry as bone. Instinct tells you not to go there for now.

To the east, a tall mountain is visible. The stone it is made of is clearly visible.

To the north-east, a high plateau is visible, and a strong wind comes from that direction. Instinct tells you not to go there for now.

To the north, a snow-capped mountain range is visible. A cold, icy wind comes from that direction. Instinct tells you not to go there for now.

To the north-west, a dead and ominous-looking forest stands tall. Instinct tells you not to go there for now.

Visual map

All of these things look like they would take an hour to walk to.

The average day consists of 24 hours.

The pavilion is made out of hewn stone, with signs attached to the exit in each direction. The floor is made of wood, and there are stairs in eight directions.

What do you do?

Flag Post

Go to the ocean.

Flag Post

You get up off of the floor and walk across the field to the shore, which takes and hour. On the way, you find a smooth black disk with a bone carved into it and pick it up, thinking it looks important. After a while, you arrive. Waves gently wash up and down the shore, and the place is very relaxing.

A glinting object catches your eye. You look to the left and see that a sword has washed up onto the shore! Next to it is a rum bottle with a piece of paper in it, with a cork on top.

[23 hours left]

INVENTORY
Black Coin

Get the sword, read the piece of paper, then go back to the pavilion.

Flag Post

You grab the sword and look at it. It appears to be made of iron, with the words Divinus Arcanum written on the blade.

You pull the paper out of the bottle and unroll it. It reads:

Dear reader,
This paper is for two purposes: One, to explain the sword, and two, explain why you are here.
This sword, known as Divine Secret, is a powerful blade made with the essences of all eight elements, known as (going clockwise) Ice, Wind, Earth, Sand, Fire, Life, Water, and Darkness. It has the ability to slay any elemental being, and becomes more powerful with every drop of blood it absorbs. The sword, when used to kill a creature, will absorb it’s soul and use it to power it’s magical elements. Because of this, the sword will grow more powerful in the element the slain creature was. For example, slaying an Ice creature will grow it’s Ice magic, and killing a Fire creature will grow it’s Fire magic. Every so often, it will evolve into a new form of your choosing.
(Continued in my next post, i have to go to bed.)

(continued)
Now, to explain why you are here, this island is a test. A test of your expertise in each element. You are to seek out each master of the elements and learn from them how to master each aspect of nature. When you finish learning all eight elements, you will be taken off of the island.

You will find a clue to each master’s location in every elemental zone that you travel to. In this case, i will provide you with the Water master’s location as of the end of this letter.

Water (Wisdom)
In the grand reef under the waves,
Therein lies a labyrinth of caves,
And if you travel it to the end,
You will be given something to mend.

(I will post again in a while, i have to go do something.)

Flag Post

Dive under the waves and search for a reef. If you find one, try to go into it, under it, over it, or into any passages, secret or not, in its general vincinity. Resurface for air as needed.

Flag Post

You wade out into the water until you are chest deep into it, then dive in. Opening your eyes underwater is not as hard as it seems, however opening them for more than 5 seconds hurts.

After surfacing and diving again 6 times, you finally locate a coral reef. Strangely, it has the illusion of looking somewhat like a castle or palace from certain angles. Anyway, you see an opening and dive for it. In a few seconds, you pass through a strange barrier that feels like goop, and you emerge into dry air. As amazing as it is, your amazement soon fades, and you realize that you are standing in a dry hall that is 30 feet high, 50 feet long, and 30 feet wide, with what looks like a hundred gallons of water being held back by a strange barrier behind you, and a long tunnel ahead of you which looks like it’s made out of some combination of limestone and coral. There are water tanks all around the wall, filled with electric eels, each one hooked up to some sort of metallic apparatus. Wires are inserted all around their bodies.

Flag Post

Best to leave the electric eels untouched.

Continue down the tunnel.

Flag Post

You continue down the tunnel and turn a corner, and appear in a large room full of clean bones and some strange kind of monster. It looks like a really big piranha with scaly horse legs. It moves forward slowly, licking it’s lips and chomping. You must do something fast, or you’ll and up being a mound of bones, too.

Kill it with your sword.

Flag Post

You pull out the sword and slash the creature. It oozes water out of the slash you made, then falls over. Your sword glows with a bright blue aura for a few seconds, then it dissipates. You walk through the corridor on the opposite side of the room.

In this room, there is a pit in the middle, with two platforms on each side. The pit is too deep to cross, and there is nothing on the other side but a wall.

Flag Post

Try to activate some weird magic mojo with your sword to get across.

Idea:Since you killed the piranha-horse, a water creature, the sword would be more powerful in water magic, right? See if you can fill up the pit with water then swim across.

Flag Post

You swing your sword around, trying to activate something. Nothing happens. However, when you swing the sword near the blue platform, the blue aura around it comes back, but only when it’s at most a foot from it.

Flag Post

stab the sword into the blue platform.

Flag Post

You try to stab the platform. The sword is knocked off course, because the platform is made of some kind of stone. However, the force of the sword blow pushes the platform downwards, and opens a large hole in the roof. Water floods from the hole into the pit, creating a spectacular waterfall. After a few minutes, the pit is filled with water.

(i knew it would work)

ignore physics and swim up the waterfall.

Y U NO COMPLY WITH THE LAWS OF PHYSICS

You attempt to swim up the waterfall, but you can’t.

find a exit to the next room.

Flag Post

You look around. There are only 2 discernable exits as of now:

1.) The door you came from.
2.) The hole that the water spilled through.

Alternatively, you might look around for another way out, or a way to activate a way out.

Flag Post

Go through the hole that produced the water.

Check water for danger if any animals in it that are not a danger to you kill them if dangerous animal in water then try to kill it if impossible then look for other options.

(I had no idea what patz1292 said, but i think i have an idea.)

You attempt to swim up the waterfall, but you can’t. Apparently that is breaking the laws of physics?

You check the water for any aquatic creatures. There are no creatures, except for one large fish, which is colored black, with yellow stripes. It does not look very dangerous.

There are two discernible exits, the hole the waterfall comes out of (Which is apparently unreachable), and the door you came out of.

You get out of the water for a moment and study the room. It is made of some sort of lime and coral mix. There is a blue platform on the side the door is in, which is currently pulled down by a mechanism. On the other side is nothing but a black and yellow striped platform, which is currently not on. An opening in the roof releases water into the pit, which apparently is not draining. A one-and-a-half foot long black and yellow striped fish swims around in the pit.
