EIDT: is the rule more As than any other letter?

Nice typo. There are no As in the word bird.

But macaw.

What about ant? Does ant work?

catamaran has 4 As, banana has 3, macaw has two.

bat has one.

Maist has snatched it! Technically the rule was alternating As (going from four to three to two to one) but I’ll give it him! Stay tuned for puzzle #2 tomorrow!

I’m going to be completely honest – I haven’t worked out the exact answer yet, however I did have an estimation and that sounds like it’s quite possibly the right answer! Give me chance to check it and I’ll get back to you tomorrow! In the mean time, if you or anyone else has any different ideas, feel free to post it! Lou’s answer may be wrong. :P

Yes, that is correct. Tonight’s puzzle goes up in an a couple/few hours.

Puzzle 3:

An easy one today. All you have to do is sort these 16 blocks into four connecting groups of 4 and then state for each group why the four blocks in that group are connected. The first person to do so and post in thread the answer wins a point.

Not sure if I misunderstood.

L=50. I=1, X=10, V=5, roman numerals
B=2, E=5, X=24, D=4, order in alphabet
R=0, D=1, O=infinity, H=2, number of lines of symmetry in each letter
A=1, X=8, K=5, M=3, letters that aren’t in the number’s spelling

Not that I disagree with Wii’s solution, but the last connection should actually be “the number of points that the letter is worth in Scrabble”.

And I was thrown off because I took “connection” to mean that the boxes had to be physically connected.
