Adeeb, you good with saying 3 with me so we both get -6?

Cell (2,2) looks flawed. Also, t6 will make this intresting

Example 1: player 1 whispers me nothing (which becomes 3), player 2 says 2. The outcome is (0, −4). Player 1 gets 0 and player 2 gets −8.
-——
I don’t understand, how does the 3 become a zero and the 2 becomes a four? What is the steps to determining the points?

Thanks for that, eProdigy. And yes, (2, 2) is supposed to turn out equal for both with negative points for both. So if two people say (2, 2), it’ll be −4 and −4.

Aha, you’re making the mistake of assuming T6salt is actually going to whisper anything at all.

Because that’s how it appears on the diagram/graph/thing. If player 1 says nothing or 3 and player 2 says 2 then looking at the diagram the outcome is (0, −8), as seen in eProdigy’s diagram which doubles the points in comparison to mine.

This should clarify it hopefully:

Event XII: Prisoner’s Dilemma

Groups of 2 again in this event. The event will last about 24 hours, as per usual. You must whisper me whether you cooperate (you only have to whisper me “C” if you want) or defect (“D”).

You’re all prisoners, congratulations. You’re set up for some interrogation along with your partner. You’re in different rooms but you already knew about this interrogation beforehand. You can choose to cooperate along with your partner (+1, +1) in which case you both serve a one year sentence and both get +1 point. You can choose to defect while your partner chooses to cooperate, in which case you get +0 and your partner gets +3. You can also both defect, in which case you both get +2 points.

If you don’t send in any whisper, you will be cooperating.

Example 1: prisoner A cooperates and prisoner B cooperates. They both get +1.

Example 2: prisoner A cooperates and prisoner B defects. Prisoner A gets +3 and prisoner B gets +0.

Example 3: prisoner A defects and prisoner B defects. They both get +2.

Hey pulsaris! I am going to do you a favor, I don’t want to risk a point, so why don’t we both cooperate, and earn one point each instead of risking 3?

Flag Post

Blu, how bout we both say C?

Sure. I was gonna suggest this as well, because it’s better for both.

Good, good… Because there is only one way I can take advantage of you by saying defect, that way you earn three points muahahah, but don’t worry I won’t do that to yah. :)

Everyone is best off saying D (racefan in paticular), with the exception of T6, who should say nothing. I really don’t get the point of this.

No everyone is better saying C, because if they say D they get 2 points not one, and Pulsaris, you are now in my number one list of players which I shall never ever trust again for the rest of my life.

Event XIII: Centipede Game Reverse

This event lasts about 24 hours and you’ll be in groups of 2. You must whisper me your action.

This is similar to Event VII: Centipede Game, but as you can guess, it’s reversed. You have two options every time: to take (whisper me T) or to do nothing (whisper me N). The number of points available to take will begin with the first player (on the left) at +1. If that player then takes the +1, that’s the end of it. However, that player can choose to do nothing, and then the other player (second, on the right), as each time the number of points increases by 2, will have the option to take +3 points or do nothing. If the second player takes it, that’s the end of it. If the second player doesn’t, the first player has the option to take +5 or do nothing. This keeps on going up to twenty letters you can whisper me.

If your partner does nothing, they will be saying T the moment before you do and thus they’ll be taking the points. If they both do nothing they both get +7. Also, remember that if you get up to 90 points you get eliminated from the game, so I’d recommend actually thinking about what you’ll be whispering me.

Example 1: A whispers me NNNNNNT and B whispers me nothing. It becomes +23 for B. A gets +0.

Example 2: A whispers me NNT and B whispers me NT. It becomes +7 for B.

I love how you put t6salt last to his favor.

Flag Post

T6salt isn’t going to whisper anything either way, so it’s not “to his favor.”

Flag Post

Even better, he is going to take it because he didn’t whisper, while no one else will, they all have positive numbers so there is no reason to take the points.

Flag Post

Uhm, well that’s how it’s (possibly, if in the end he indeed doesn’t whisper) going to be for BCLEGENDS, who’s in his group. But it’s probably not going to be like that for any other group… So someone has to “take the points” in each of the nine groups.

Flag Post

No everyone is better saying C, because if they say D they get 2 points not one,

No. Regardless of what your partner does, you are still better defecting than cooperating (this is what MansW1 was getting at).

If your opponent cooperates, then cooperating gets you +1, but defecting is better because it gives you 0.

If your opponent defects, then cooperating gets you +3, but defecting is better because it only gives you +2.

Either way, defecting is better.

Flag Post

Oh, I understand now, but I mean without making anyone else mad, pulsaris tricked me, we both settled for cooperating so we can both earn a one, instead I got a three. No one trust him. As a matter of fact no one trust anybody.

Flag Post

It seems like I’ve received a few complaints on the last two events being about getting positive points and not negative points. Well, don’t worry; all the events left starting from the next one will have the possibility of you getting negative points if you do well.

Flag Post

You know, puzzle, I’m gonna make this easy for you. It’s certain that we’re getting negative points in the future events. I’m still at a very good position, so I’m going to PM in “T”. Nothing else. I’m before you, which means you highly benefit from this, if I do it.

Thank you in advance for letting me do it.

I’m away for over a day for new year’s, so this event will be delayed (allowing for more responses) for a few days. Happy new year’s to everyone!
