By the way, you can only get up to −7 points in a round, and you can’t have −7 and −4 or any other such combination. So to puzzledan, who drew in the first set and was a joint winner in the third: if you win the fourth set, you get −7, if you don’t you get −4.

Event II: To Share or Not to Share ×3

In this event you will be assigned into 6 groups of 3. This event ends in around 42 hours from this post (because this continued event was supposed to last 24 hours, but the four of them have already sent in their whispers) at 6:00 PM Eastern Time December 11, or 12:00 PM New Zealand Time 12 December. You must whisper me your action once you’ve thought about it.

In your group you have the possibility (and I recommend it) to chat freely on whether you want to share or not. Share what? Share the points prize. You can chat by sending private messages to each other, post in this thread, or go to a chat on Kongregate. Or even in real life if you all know each other; the point is: you can communicate with each other freely. If the three of you successfully whisper me that you want to share, you will all get −4 points. Whisper me “Share” to do this.

However, you can also steal. Whisper me “Steal” to do this. If you are the only person of the three to steal, you will get −7 points. Of course, you can tell your group that you will share, but you will instead whisper me to steal. But, if two of you whisper me to steal, then the person who chose to share gets −7 points instead. If the three of you whisper to steal, then no one gets any −7 points.

In the case that someone doesn’t whisper, it’ll work differently. If the two remaining of you steal, no-one gets anything; if one of you steal, that person gets everything (the same); and if both of you share, only the two of you share, and you get −4 points (−4 points being how much you get for being a join winner, as stated in the instructions; the person who does nothing gets +5, as also stated in the first page instructions).

Example 1: Alpha whispers he wants to steal, Beta whispers he wants to share, and Gamma whispers he wants to share. Alpha gets −7 points, and Beta and Gamma get −3 points (−3 being how much you get for participating).

Example 2: Alpha whispers he wants to share, Beta whispers he wants to share, and Gamma whispers he wants to share. The three of them get −4 points as they’re joint winners.

Example 3: Alpha whispers he wants to share, Beta whispers he wants to steal, and Gamma whispers he wants to steal. Alpha gets −7 points, and Beta and Gamma get nothing.

Event III: Up or Down Pairs

In this event you will be assigned into 9 pairs of 2. This event ends in around 24 hours from this post. You must whisper me your action once you’ve thought about it. This round does not have conventional points system as in previous rounds.

The first player of the pair has the 1st and 3rd options, whilst the second player has the 2nd and 4th options. What you say for each option is either Up (U in the diagram) or Down (D in the diagram). The end result will be what the first player (number on the left in between the brackets) gets and what the second player (number on the right in between the brackets) gets. Some of these only have 3 options, and in that case the 4th up or down doesn’t matter.

I’d recommend both of you in the pair to chat to each other and agree an outcome; but of course, you can ditch the agreed idea and go with your own. By the way, you must get your pair to whisper. If one of you doesn’t whisper, the one who didn’t gets +5 and the other (the one who did whisper) gets −2; and if the both of you don’t whisper you get both +5 points.

Diagram:

Example 1: first player says Up, Up, and the second player says Down, Up. Looking at the diagram, the outcome is: (+1, −3) and there is no fourth Up or Down. (plus 1, −3) means that the first player gets +1 point, and the second player gets −3 points.

Example 2: first player says Up, Down, and the second says Up, Up. The outcome is: (−8, +2). The first player gets −8 and the second player gets +2.

Example 3: first player says Down, Down, and the second says Down, Up. The outcome: (−1, −6). The first player gets −1 point and the second player gets −6 points.

T6salt, so you have to say two directions, as does your partner.

Example: if you say “Up Up” and SilverEvil says “Up Up” then the result is: (−1, −1). That result means you both get −1 points.

Example 2: if you say “Down Down” and SilverEvil says “Up Up” then the result is: (+0, −5). That result means you get +0 points and SilverEvil gets −5 points.

Even if you’re still confused, just send me randomly up or down or both or one of them twice unless you want +5 points…

Challenge 3 looks flawed: First player says up up and does it, and the second player is best off doing up down (-5,-6)

Mans, that doesn’t make it flawed. That makes the players have to coordinate. There’s a difference.

Event IV: Matching Pennies

In this event you will be again assigned into 9 pairs of 2, different from the previous event. This event ends in around 24 hours from this post. You must whisper me your action. This event does not have the conventional points system as in Event I and II.

Unlike in the previous event, coordination with your pair is futile. You each have a penny in this round and must whisper me heads or tails. The first player (on the left) wins if both pennies match, that is if they’re both heads or both tails. The second player (on the right) wins if both pennies do not match, so heads and tails or tails and heads, which are the same.

If the first player wins, they will get +1 penny; and if the second player wins, they will get +1 penny. Each penny translates into points. So if the first player wins, they will get +1 point; and if the second player wins, they will get +1 point. Yes, those are correct; in other words, you kinda want to lose in this round so you get −1 point.

If one of the pair doesn’t whisper me anything, they get +5 points and the other person gets −1 point. If neither of a pair whisper me anything, they both get +5 points.

Example 1: first player whispers me heads, second whispers me tails. The first player gets −1 point and the second gets +1 point.

Example 2: first player whispers me tails, second player whispers me tails. The first player gets +1 point and the second gets −1 point.
