Ask the author. Otherwise, you may upset them for hosting without permission. You also shouldn’t hotlink from a site without permission.

Theres no difference. In fact, hotlinking is just as bad (sometimes worse), since you are leeching someone else’s bandwidth.
If you really like the game, put a link to the page. Don’t try to embed the game itself.
