AS3 in Flash 8

Is there anyway for me to use an outside source to make an as3 file and put it in a Flash 8 movie?

No since the only way to make a AS3 file is FlashCS3 and CS3 files cant be recognized in flash 8 why would you want to do that anyway

I would maybe like to make a .fla file and a .as file seperatley. I also heard that there are Open Source programs that can compile them so I was wondering if I can make a Action Script 3 file in another program and make the .fla file in Flash 8. And use the other OS program to compile them together.
