Well I’ve not really been keeping timelapses but my posts with different versions show a bit of my progress. Here’s my latest http://megaswf.com/serve/2339527
Mostly just bug fixes and visual tweaks but its starts to look cool now all the behaviors are working. The yellow’s are especially cool when they have little “singing in the rain” moments.

I didn’t listen too closely, so I dunno if you did this or not. But you should make sure all those ‘notes’ are in the same key. So you would have all the white notes and no black ones if it was in C Major.

Well, unless something major changes I’m going to have to bow out of the competition.

I was supposed to have a trial version of the game ready and uploaded by today so I could get feedback while I kept working on it but all I have coded so far is a nice little status bar along the top of the screen. I’ve got a great little design document to work from but between Easter weekend, plans with the wife that were already set, getting sick and now having a wake and funeral for my Uncle to go to I can’t seem to catch a break.

I’m still going to give it a shot just because the idea is worth turning into a full game instead of just a stripped down 10 day release, so at the very least I got a great game idea out of it.

I’ll try to see if I can get the time to do a detailed review of the games this time around as well but I can’t promise anything.

Generally, that’s because I’m not sure what I’m gonna call it. So I leave it vague =).

But it is a water strider. I just don’t know if water will be in it’s name.

Its not looking like i’ll make it in time either :( All I have done are the DD, game shell, some amazing pixel art assets and the main music and a couple sounds. All in one day. But my other day off some stuff came up…damn I work too much at my thoroughly enjoyable day job. (Grocery store, lol). Im gonna flesh out the game as a smaller release over the next month.

Same here; I still need to add music, build like 10 levels, replace graphics, create the GUI… and I’ll be busy today, so… I’ll either have to enter super rush mode and finish it in a couple of hours, leave it incomplete or not enter at all.

It’s really sad to see so many people dropping out. If anybody needs any help, I can provide the music and maybe some coding depending on the workload. You can also pick something out from my library if that’s easier. I just added a few more songs. Just let me know if you want anything for this contest, and I’d be happy to give it to you for free :)

Source code for my entry is up to date. Minions can attack each other, Heroes and Castles. (However, Heroes and Castles health isn’t factored in at the time of this post.)

@Curious: I was going to make a game like that, where you just jump and try to get higher to avoid being covered by water, but I’m glad I dropped that idea because it’d have been lame to have two almost identical entries.

@Orandze, the links (when you click on a track’s name) on your site seem to be broken.


About my entry, just got some free time, I’ll try to rush and finish it now.
I wanted to have at least 20 levels, but I doubt I’ll be able to make more than 15, but I think I’ll have something playable and that looks finished before the deadline.
