How do you know he doesn’t mean concept art? Perhaps once the game is live, the boxes will be shinier and more colorful.

If you ask me, them are already some really shiny boxes right ’er.

I did in fact mean concept. “Concept art is a form of illustration where the main goal is to convey a visual representation of a design, idea, and/or mood for use in films, video games, animation, or comic books before it is put into the final product.” Since in the final product I will have three square buttons, and a rectangular main character. Placeholders don’t have anything to do the final product. (I’d have used my RandomGraphic class instead of ColorBox)

I’m working on an amazing top-down shooter. My programming has improved tremendously, so the game should be really good. It’s inspired by Unreal.

Shaming can be an okay form of punishment. But Feffers, that message is kind of aggravating.

On his Facebook page, Nerdook has a list of rules for designing games. One of them is “Make the players feel good.” His games have been rather successful, so it might be worth taking that into consideration. (Note: I’m not a Nerdook fan anymore, so I am unbiased.)

I think it’s alright for games to be purposely abrasive. as long as you know your doing it and you’re fine with it. it’s the closest thing to “punk” a videogame can be. You don’t tell Slayer not to yell when they sing, do you?
