At this point the kong exclusive bonus is worth more than winning GITD.

Hosting a copy on MegaSWF for this would be 110% within the terms of checking that exclusive box. In other words, Kongregate doesn’t doesn’t mind at all if you put it/an old version on MegaSWF

Yes, I think next GiTD, updating will be allowed during the voting period.
Blargh. Does anyone remember a while back when I suggested this and got a resounding “NO” from everyone?
NO
sorry
Really though, I agree that you should be able to change it. If everyone can, it can’t be unfair, now can it?

I’m all for it, but out of principle, I say it shouldn’t be done unless the collective opinion has changed since last time.

I wouldn’t ’mind updating during the contest, but only if voting was broken down into two stages and scored differently in each.

Updating during voting doesn’t make any sense (to my mind) unless you assume that the changes wouldn’t affect the votes (which highly depends on the changes made). So I could submit a blank .swf for the deadline and then update it to an actual game during the voting period, right? If so, that means the “ten days” is no longer ten actual days. If not, what are the parametres for allowable updates?
Of course, I’m willing to go along with this if you vote for llamas as the next theme.

What about a GoTW type deal (7 days of development) then post to forums and collect feedback for the remaining 3 days, to make GiTD, and then voting period starts at the end.
EDIT: Official Results.

Addition: Just to clarify: ^not my llama. (I was ninja’d, I swear! He’s a ninja llama!)
Personally, I like that idea. My llama seems affectionate, too. Any idea when the next one will be?

Dang, I just noticed UG’s shout saying that it’s over. For some reason I misread the OP as saying we had until August 10 to vote. Oh, well, my two were going to be Farm and Grow (because I love the Harvest Moon series) and Essence (because of the polish and addicting fun).
Congratulations, CG for winning, getting on the front page, and filling my heart with nostalgia for the SNES HM!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I really like how this one turned out (better game than WUaS, in my opinion, but nevermind). If anyone is interested, I’ll open source the code. 13 classes full of rushed spaghetti. Yum.
