I know basic AS3 and AS2 but I think with someone else helping me I can at least reach the level of intermediate in the Actionscript world.

If you’re ok with using AS3, you shouldn’t bother to learn AS2.

Come to GDR#

Lots of people who can help there.

No one is really going to teach tutor you per se, but they can help out.

Also seriously just drop AS2. It’s not worth it.

I only got a basic knowledge of AS2 from watching tutorials and not knowing until the end it was As2 so I figured might as well finish it.

By finish I hope you don’t mean “finish” learning as2.
Thats a long road. Some could argue it would be a road you would never get off. For can you really ever learn everything about something?

You can’t really learn “everything” and I meant finish the tutorial like this one quiz game but eventually flash crashed anyway due to an output error.

Drop AS2. Pick up AS3. Then just keep pushing through the tutorials solo. Theres a lot of good ones out there. A tutor isnt going to help you build that self-motivation that is going to be vital later on. The more you learn from teaching yourself, the better off you will be. You will end up with a sense of pride, as well as a very deep understanding of not only what your code (and others code) is doing, but an understanding of how to execute / solve a problem IN code.

Trust me after that first newbie hump (1-2 months if you push yourself) the confusion fades and you will find yourself hooked to learning more on your own. The best way to learn IMO

Then learn HaXe and be totally awesome. Or just learn CaXe.

Yeah I was wondering what is the pro’s and con’s of Haxe? Also when I find tutorials there mostly crappy, gotta look hard for good one’s like for a quiz or platformer.

Wow, for some reason my text got deleted. I am trying to look at these tutorials when I can. Hopefully they are helpful enough to get me started on the right track to building a game of my own at some point. Which tutorials do you use?

I just followed some tutorials on YouTube like I’m going to be working on an Escape Game tutorial since the platformer one I had open accidentally got closed. Thanks for the links.
