So the amazing BobTheCoolGuy and UnknownGuardian have spent the last 20 days making a dead simple .swf host.
http://www.fastswf.com/
I’m not here to be spam, just saying that now you don’t have to deal with swfcabin or megaswf anymore. Just upload and share.

Awesome.
I’ll help spread the word and blog about it. Any information not already on the site I should know about before I do?
Also, out of curiousity all of your terms of service are reasonable without a doubt but theres one in question
“Promote sites that sell weapons of any kind.” Seems a bit different. Is this out of personal reasons?
If it was a legal website that sold handguns, ect, to people with the correct licensing, and it was a flash advertisement for such that was being developed, this would not be allowed correct?
If this is actually illegal on the internet, I apologize. I didn’t know. I don’t usually spend time buying handguns or rapiers.

Nope, Google’s content policies (for ads, etc) won’t let us have the following content (or link to it):
- Pornography, adult or mature content
- Violent content
- Content related to racial intolerance or advocacy against any individual, group or organisation
- Excessive profanity
- Hacking/cracking content
- Gambling or casino-related content
- Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia content
- Sales of beer or hard alcohol
- Sales of tobacco or tobacco-related products
- Sales of prescription drugs
- Sales of weapons or ammunition (e.g. firearms, firearm components, fighting knives, stun guns)
- Sales of products that are replicas or imitations of designer or other goods
- Sales or distribution of coursework or student essays
- Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails
- Any other content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others

Looks really cool – however I tried uploading something just as a test a couple of times and ‘something went wrong.’ :(

Nah, you can still bear arms. You just can’t advertise the sale of weapons in certain websites.
And to UG and Bob, a big Thank You for fastSWF. :)

It is, however, legal to sell bear arms.
At least under the terms of the agreement. ;)
(Also bare arms)

Not that I approve of the ready availability of guns, but go.ogle makes me :(
OT: This looks nice though, I’ll have to give it a spin next time I need a game previewed. Thanks.

The site is not playing nice with NoScript. I tried allowing fastswf.com and I already had cloudfront.net allowed, but all I got was the “Uh-Oh get adobe flash player” message. Allowing the other three sites (googlesyndication (banner ad), addthis (social networking buttons) and newrelic) did not help with the issue.

The site will require Flash and JS enabled and functioning to work. Google is for the ads (have to pay for the hosting, storage space, servers, etc. somehow), addthis could be removed, but we thought that it would be good to give people a simple way to share stuff, and new relic is just a tool to help monitor the web site’s performance.
Edit: Oops, missed what you were really saying. That’s strange. If I have a chance I’ll download NoScript myself and see what’s going on. Are you using Firefox? Also, thanks for the report – bug reports are great

I use an older FF (3.5.7), which has caused other sites to complain before (although the sites that complain the loudest that they don’t support my browser usually end up working just fine). If that’s an issue, yours might be the site that finally gets me to upgrade. :)

I use NoScript myself and I had no issues after allowing the main site.

I think that would be a great idea, except we’re using a Flash uploader for a couple of technical reasons. Flash, stupidly in my opinion, only allows file drag and drop in AIR, and not in regular .swfs. Even if Flash added the feature, in say, 11.5, I probably wouldn’t add it though. Keeping the uploader as a SWF targeting a low version of Flash Player is more important. So, unless we rewrite the uploader in JS (not out of the question entirely) it probably won’t happen.

Fancy! I like it.
However, when I uploaded my swf, it freezes after you start the level (press SPACE), and I’ve confirmed this doesn’t happen in FlashDevelop.

Likely a bug on your part. No reason for it to be freezing when its definitely working in the beginning. Do you have content on there that requires wmode=direct or something?
EDIT Tried playing it locally:
