[Riddle Me This, Batman] Textbox Not Displaying

The font color is black, size 14. (The black area is a selection highlight).

The text box is not behind another object.

The text box contains static text.

The text box does not contain only spaces.

The text box rendered correctly four days ago.

My default response to any thread about text not showing up: recheck your embed settings.

Uh. This isn’t an embed issue.

for 0) This is static text and should not be effected by embed settings
For 1) the font is embedded
For 2) this is in the editor not the compiled swf

In the editor, huh? That’s really weird. Though I’m getting a sense of deja vu for some reason…

What happens if you make a new text box? How about switching to/from TLF?

Did you make sure you checked the “Don’t have bugs” option when installing Flash Pro?

This same thing happened to me one day and I fixed it by changing my Anti-alias setting from whatever it was to something else – however I don’t know what caused it to happen that one day and I can’t recreate this.

EVERY text box that does not contain ANY TrueType font (the blue/green TT icon, as opposed to the red O) won’t render.

Alright, I checked the anit-aliasing, and only “use device fonts” and “bitmap” work. And they both look like garbage.

The copy I’d taken home a week ago is also FUBAR. I don’t get this at all.

It’s also effecting all of my dynamic text boxes. Erg.
