Only when you win! Also adding it to endless mode, broke part of the code with the story mode

It’s VERY unfinished. Just an early prototype, you can’t even kill enemies yet. Still lots of things to be added, like upgrades, tons of new enemies ( https://dl.dropbox.com/u/12944042/DefenseGameCharacters.swf ) and a lot more.

I know I could post it here, but I don’t want people to play it until its time to judge. It has a bit of a surprise twist/ending and it won’t be as good on a second playthrough (i.e when people are judging it)… plus a little suspense never hurt anyone.

Lacks pause/end menu, instructions and pretty much everything. I may keep working on it for the rest of the month and call it my January entry.

Press ESC or Q during the game to quit to the main menu. Any other key toogles music.
Move around (with the mouse) and avoid balls for as long as possible. Score increases each time a ball disappears. My hs is 202. Beat it. You win a cookie if you make over 500.

E: Also forgot to build the previews. Low quality = shapes. High quality = shitton of filters and heavy/slow bitmap manipulation.

Had a boss battle 80% done, then it completely stopped working and I don’t have time to fix it. I improved the collision testing and added a few more levels though.

Early prototype of a mining simulation. Artist couldn’t get any art done in time so I’m entering this. WASD to scroll, try to reach 100 million in funds by mining resources then selling them at the market for money to build your mine deeper. Various buildings and equipment have various upgrades.

I didn’t manage to finish the game, it’s in a prototype state similar to some from the other day. I’m pretty happy with what I achieved given how little time went into it, though. I’ll probably turn it into a 1GAM but it might not be January’s.

It has everything it needs to be a game except the winning/losing mechanics (you might want/need to disqualify me). 1 more day and I would’ve had it ;)

Since there appears to be some interest in a monthly GiTD I will put a thread up in a few days to make sure and set some dates (and check if Kongregate is interested in sponsoring more contests).


One more final thought: GiTD should be a stepping stone. I want to see some finished entries, published on Kongregate for the world to enjoy, rather than just for us as a group.

But last I checked you can’t get any of the kreds people gave you if you have less than 300.
