Open-Source Games

I have made a simple flash game and submitted it to kong, but I have noticed that Kongregate isn’t very “open-source friendly”, in the sense that it doesn’t allow me to let people download the source-code to my game from the Kongregate page. Instead, they have to go to my page and download it from there.

I would just like to say that it would be nice if Kongregate allowed people to upload their source-code (if they wanted to) for others to download and learn from/experiment with.

Embed the source in the game.

Bless your heart son. I wish there would be more ppl like you that wants to do this type of thing. I wish I could reach through your computer screen and give you a dollar right now.

As for links to open source you could post your good stuff on pastebin. There’s also dropbox. You get 2 gigs for free that should be more than you need.

There actually is a way, but I don’t personally know how to do it

Solsund is a friend of mine, I’ll try to figure out what he did. (You’re presented with the option to download it after you beat the game, and it downloads from Kongregate)

Probably he just submitted the source as a say zip file to Kongregate as a game resource, retrieved a link to it and put it into the SWF.
