MIDI music software

What’s a good free MIDI software? I can write music, but I don’t have any software to use, any advice? I just wanna make some oldschool game music.

On a seperate note, if anyone knows of a good free music generator that allows me to import instrument sounds and compile them into songs that would be awsome too. One that comes with some basic instrument sounds would be preferable, but I can get them either way.

Click on the arrow next to “License” to get them listed as freeware first.
