you can probably do with with air and native extensions; or running a local server.

You could also suggest that your players get a program like joy2key. I know it’s not the same, but it’s better than nothing.

It’s not needed- so I wouldn’t suggest it. I just feel like it’s a blatantly obvious thing they should include.
