All classes are equal in the long run. Choose whichever you feel like.
Mages have the lowest defence and weapon damage, but can do alot in their abilities. They have lots of energy (and spells to regenerate it during combat), so they can cast many abilities. Their spells include: heal, hp regen, energy regen, hp steal, and attack abilities. They also get fairly good crit.
Ranger have imbetween defence and weapon damage, and later on have high dodge and crit. Their abilities include crit. chance buffs and attack abilities.
Warriors have the highest defence and weapon damage. Their abilities inculde attack power buffs and attack abilties. While they are strong, they have low crit and dodge. (Those two are more important than most people think)
The fact that rangers and mages have “ranged” weapons doesn’t matter much. They will reach you in a few seconds.
While rangers look weak early on, as their crit and dodge chance grows they are very strong. With a lot of elbow grease and in-game coins a Lvl 60 ranger can have 50% dodge chance, and around 35% crit. chance.
Total health isn’t really based of your class (Unless you choose stam. class). It’s based of how many points you put into stamina.
The technichaly “best” is a agi/int hybrid while OE str t4, but god, is it expensive.
