I’m wondering if I used good contrast in the colors here, or if I’m just off track. I’m trying to experiment with it to make my pictures pop out.
It may be a little creepy though, haha.

You need to pick colors of the same tone. For example if you want something calming you’d use a color scheme with more neutral shades such as a creme pink, maroon, tan, darker oranges, etc. I think you have the right idea, however I feel like the gums stand out too much and it really draws attention from everything else, because the white on the face is like a neutral space, automatically drawing my eyes to the teeth in the middle, the bright colors really make it hard to get a really good look over. I personally find that using darker tones to emphasize scary things, neutral tones to emphasize calm/peaceful things, and bright colors to really draw the attention. As I said before I think you have the general idea, I think the white face could use a little adjusting, and possibly choosing a slightly darker tone for the gums and lips.
