For all the accordion players out there, do I need to learn piano to play the accordion?
Thanks.

This is a completely random answer, but seeing as no other people have answered I’ll just give you my input. To my knowledge each instrument has its own sheet music, meaning guitar sheet music wouldn’t be similar to a piano, and just like a bass guitars sheet music is different than a guitar. My guess is that in order to play an accordion you need to learn the instrument itself, not another. I would say that having previous experience in playing piano would probably help, but that’s just me. Also accordions are strange instruments, rather than using strings it uses air pressure (As you probably know) with a series of closed or open holes to make notes. There’s buttons on one side of the instrument, and keys on the other. It has a strange sound to it but I think it would be an interesting instrument to learn considering not a lot of people know how to actually play it. As I said though this may or may not be accurate, but my guess is no you don’t need piano experience. Just like you don’t need running experience to swim.

I have no experience with it, but with a bit of research on google, you should have a bit of experience with piano/keyboard and you should be just fine. You can probably learn the accordion without piano/keyboard experience, but you’ll almost definitely find it harder as you don’t have experience from a piano.
