Prologue: Kandrona-8
It was 2442, Ocelot was on his way to Kandrona-8, where the mining of Vesper Gas would begin. Personally, Ocelot was disdainful for the use of the gas, mainly because it was not renewable, when they had already mastered nuclear fusion. But Vesper had it’s strong points, it could be burned for energy on the fly, much more useful for deep-space missions.
Alone on his ship, Ocelot paced the battlements, unknowing of what to expect. Prometheus was tightly wrapped around his arms, with a small Vesper Gas valve around his belt for fuel to burn. Ocelot, stood and gathered a nice, long, view of Jupitar. Here he’d be staying within the large gravitational field, in order to efficiently mine for the substances.
Three weeks after touching down and settling into Kandrona-8, Ocelot stood guard outside the city. Today he knew that Ms. Sarah Leclane would be coming to deliver the robots to main the planet’s vesper gas. As he was impatiently awaiting her arrival, he heard a loud explosion. He peered into the sky to see a falling spaceship.
Sarah cursed at the world. She cursed at her ship, for having such poor shields. She cursed at the space pirates who shot her down. But mostly she cursed at herself for being careless enough to not be on the look out.
Here she was, ready to start her new life, as the head business manager and engineer of the Kandrona-8 Mining Sector, when she suddenly got shot. Her carelessness had got the better of her, and now she was going to pay for her.
She slumped back in her chair, holding the nearest droid: Atlas. Death, as she imagined, would be just around the corner. She expected an explosion, she expected her death. What she did not expect was her entire ship to be caught.
Ocelot effortlessly put down the ship. He’d love to bask in the glory of saving Dr. Irma’s daughter, but thought would have to wait, The space pirates had already let off the horrible monster they kept in the dens of their ship, Tesseract was a Galatrode – Better known as a Phoenix to humans. Galatrodes were generally peaceful creatures, but much like dogs, they could be trained to be murderous.
Ocelot kited the beast as it continually dived towards him. He knew that Prometheus would be useless in this fight, due to the creature’s already flaming exoskeleton. Decided to take a risk, Ocelot jumped out, and literally punched the Galatrode in the face.
Sarah Leclane, knew that Ocelot could resist fire. She also knew that he was damn strong. She just didn’t know how strong he was, nor how well he could resist fire. Now she knew. Sarah watched as Ocelot effortlessly crushed the Galatrode and through the beast back into the spaceship it came from, sending them both tumbling to the ground. Ocelot was strong, she’d give him that. But he was arrogant and naive too.
“An oversized child,” she thought to herself.
Ocelot walked towards Sarah and plucked Atlas from her hands.
“Hey blondie,” he said, confidence infused within his voice “Let me show you the Vesper Mines,”.
Sarah sighed as Ocelot walked away from her, robots held high above his head. This was going to be a very long, six years with him.
Comments can go under here. The actual story will start… eventually… I must felt like writing something REALLY long.
