Just got GIMP, and started messing around with some brushes and renders… what do you guys think?

The top font is Sidewalk, the bottom one is American Life.

You need to make your background the same colour scheme as the render, so what I tend to do is copy the render, and paste it all over the place. Do some stuff with blurring, and it comes out as a pretty nice background.

If you go to a site like www.planetrenders.net and have a look through, they have some decent ones there.

ahh isee i have made a few of them chorme flames mostly abstract though i guess it should work got a few one purple and green im gonna use on dark samus following your color scheme idea

GIMP = Gnu Image Manipulation Program, basically a much more complicated version of Paint.

Nice stuff, Crom. In my opinion, they need a bit more highlights and shadows in the backgrounds. Of course, it shouldn’t overpower the render; the render must always win the eye-catching contest. Oh, and I reckon some of them could be shorter. Width is okay. Don’t worry; you don’t need to show all the render, just a bit’s fine.

Overall, though, it’s pretty awesome. Keep it up!

Here’s are two sigs of mine, for example.

You’ll notice in the first signature that the dark area naturally draws your attention to the render whilst remaining (I hope) interesting.

In the second, it’s all pretty light, but the brightness of the dragon’s eye and more centralised position of the render draws your attention to it.

This thread isn’t nescessarily hijacked, just turn it into a general thread for renders or make a separate one for your work. Also, I would appreciate it if you could tell me where you got those fonts, I like ’em ^^
