Whats the Best Program or Software to Create Images?

Can you help me out here? I want to know what you guys use.

I use Paint.net.
Laxaria uses Gimp.
some people use Photoshop.
Zen makes 3-d images with Blender
Apothysis for Fractals
Easytoon, and Pivot stickfigure animator for simple animations.

I have all of them, except Photoshop.

Do you know how much memory it takes? Because I need to know if its a lot or not.

Anyways, pirating Photoshop is illegal.

GIMP is roughly the free open source and quite dumbed down version of Photoshop in terms of usability. Paint.Net is an advanced version of MSPaint.

Althought for “creating” images, you probably would want a tablet to go along with any of the above programs. Most of us manipulate images digitally by recoloring, displacing, adding text, using filters, etc. Not many create pieces from a pure blank canvas.

I create images from scratch. You can see it for yourself here. I use Pixelmator, which is basically Photoshop for Mac. It has slightly (only very slightly) less features than Photoshop for the professionals but looks MUCH nicer!

I can make… ok images from nothing on paint.NET (but i’m only an amateur)

Actually u can make images on MSPaint, but then you have to do pixel for good quality work. :P
