The Official Avatar Thread

To anyone who thinks they have seen something like this before: You probably have, but that’s the whole point of this thread.

To be honest, let’s face it. There are too many forum pages either requesting avatars, or making avatars for you, or all that stuff. I for one don’t really like this, as it means more topics will be buried that might be of interest (not saying avatar topics aren’t interesting, but if it’s an “I want an avatar” topic, you can pretty much guess what it is).

So let’s cut to the chase. I don’t want people who own avatar forum pages to be complaining about me saying that I hate the pages. I genuinely don’t. In fact, I encourage everyone who has a page for making avatars or asking for avatars, but I think that we have too many of them…

... So I made this page for anyone who wants an avatar, so that they can post here, instead of making another page, in turn clogging up the forums. And then when they post, budding avatar artists can make them for them. Or, artists can post here wanting a challenge to make an avatar for someone, instead of making… you get the point. Anything really, as long as it’s avatar related. Ok? Awesome.

If there is actually an official avatar thread, I apologise, and will think of a new name, but as far as I can see there isn’t.

Also, as I said before, I don’t want lots of angry artists complaining to me about making a topic that renders their’s obselete. I, in fact, encourage you to keep those threads going, and make more avatar’s for people.

Can anyone make me an avatar? I remember asking in some thread, but it never got made.

I was thinking either the letters “DC” or some Blue Fire. Both are good. Anyone up for it?

i think you should make it so only avatars should be put here, requests sshould be on thier own threads the finished thing will be here in a single post that edits with added avatars.

To Mal: I think they’re absolutely awesome, and not too bright at all. It’ll get me more attention! but letters are a bit far apart. Would you mind…? But apart from that, good job. =]

To Cloud: I think you’re missing the point. Sure, you could do that, but wouldn’t that be a bit inconveniant having to keep up with 2 threads? It would be much easier if requests and completed images were both managed here, or in the artists own thread.

Can someone make me a .gif avatar using this pic and flashing between “Iron” and “Maiden” on top in the Iron Maiden font? And brighten up the pic a bit.

Hey Mal, If you could make it full size, so it resizes automatically, that’d be great. Especially if you use flash.

I believe he doesn’t use Flash. Flash makes .gif worser in quality :(

Ehh, now that I think about, just leave it as is, but slow down the frame rate a wee bit, to about half of what it is now. Except, also move the head up a bit. I dont mind if part of his forehead is slightly cut off, better that then the chin. That’d make it perfect.
