Yeah I was bored and got an idea xP.
What if Kongregate sold controllers specifically for playing games on Kongregate with? what would they look like? Probably something like this:
From the left, we have the arrow keys, and ASDW keys, next to those is another circular button with a rectangle, this is the space bar ;D.
Then there’s the Z and X keys in square buttons to the right of those ;).
Then there’s the K button, which would work like a mouse wheel, which can be rotated in all directions, and can be pressed, like the a left mouse button ;D.
Then there’s the N and M keys, don’t ask why I put these here.
Finally, there’s the number keys, 0-9 ;D.
Assuming this was a regular USB controller, you’d be able to use it AND the keyboard, so you can still chat while playing games ;D.
As for keys in-game that aren’t on the kongtroller, I’d imagine that there’d be some kind of configuration settings for it so that you can adapt your Kongtroller to the game ;D.
