For a little while I’ve been making these one things. Im not sure if you could call them fractals? Because I belive fracticals have a repeating patern which these do not. Anyways, what do you think of them? They could be decent wallpapers perhaps. Basically I just use the flame filther in GIMP and start making it semitrical and end up like this. I can also change the background since they are seperate layers.

They were originally 1000×1000, but photobucket shrinked them down to 800×800.
(yes, I said it, 200×200 pixels larger)

Hmmm… yea I could see where you are coming from there… except mine are alot more choatic(and larger). The focal point is almost always the center as well.

I named the first one anchient compass. =)

If I had to name my other I would call it blue lotus.

Thats why I like yours more. The chaos is great.

Too busy for me, but they appear technically sound. I would like to see some with more variation, as in dropping the symmetry and trying different shapes and what not.

Flag Post

Well symmetry is what puts them apart from randomly generate images… Yea they’re great, but the computer did most of the work. So I couldn’t call it my own just because I decided the gradient. I saw something like what I start out with one day on planetrenders and I was like… I could of done that…Yet people liked it alot… Which makes me confused how you can get good ratings for zero effort…

I agree I should tone down the symmetry a little bit, but without it, its not mine to own.

I love the second one! It looks like one of those scopes you look into. I am impressed! This is quality work of yours. You should enter them into the Collabs if you haven’t already.

Decided to make another… I stoped at the first picture, but I decided I wanted to see what it would look if I made it more semitrical. Decided to show you all of them. I like the second one the most. Looks great in white too. I made the image size 800×800 to fit photobucket, so you’re seeing the orginal size.

I thought I lost this, but Im so glad I didn’t. It looks like a ruby was formed inside of an emerald to me. I love how it turned out. This one is in full size, 1000×1000 thanks to tinypic.

They all look great. It took me ages to load them (slow internet today). Why not resize them to like half size to save space, and possibly my loading speed. =P

And I don’t mean save it as a smaller size just use:

img src=‘Image URL’ width=‘Width in Pixels’ height=‘Height in Pixels’/>

Anyway nice pics.

How do I just write the code?

Flag Post

I was thinking about that. Maybe I should add links if I do that though.

How do you make them? Filters?

Flag Post

I think that latest one is way better than the others, it looks awesome.

Flame filther in gimp(to make stock abstract) Duplicate layers, rotate tool, layer filthers so that the top layer doesn’t overide the bottem layer.

I start out with something competly asemtrical, then start to mirror it. I should make a tutorial on it, it’s not that hard to do, but it’s kind of trial and error to make something good.

I resized all my of images. Enjoy the tinyness glory.

Well, since yall liked it, I thought I could show it in white. It reveals a little bit more of it.

Im making a tutorial, but since I wanted to reduce some lag, I made it in a new thread. I’ll update it later.
You can find the tutorial here: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/5-art/topics/64993-reins-fancy-semitrical-creations-tutorial

Just wanted to show off this one I had for a while. Its one of my favorites really, I just haven’t bothered to upload it as it was on my flashdrive which I don’t use that often. Really shows how crazy amounts of symtry does not allways lead to boring results.
