I just wanted a nice way of introducing myself to the art community of Kong. I’m an illustrator, game designer, musician, pixel artist, programmer and children’s novelist. Here’s some of my art work. Mostly pixels and odd things. Anything that’s really big will be linked too.

quiet nice but it would be better if you place ur whole images here.. and kinda put them in order

Didn’t want to kill the computer or modems of those without Super Fast T3 Industrial strength FIOS connections. Everything that is shown is a .PNG or .GIF so they’re tiny. I don’t know what other order to put them in other than grouping them like I did.

Do you have any comments or criticisms?

Looks nice, and I’d love to see the Flash animation finished with more detail! ;-)

I’m still getting my bearings on animating things like this. I’ll keep you posted on it’s progress. If I could I’d upload my first short. All hand drawn using a light box. I prefer moving things around in real life rather than digitally but this is more organized and once I figure everything out it’ll be easy… right?

I think the only work of your’s out of what you posted that impresses me is the 3D modeling. The demon image, in particular.

@apricot, have you finished a flash game yet??, well im hoping for more games here in kong XD

w8 if you would post them as an image here it would be better for slow computers i think… why? = you dont have to open more slow links, pages… i dunno just suggesting XD

@ Elysium666 sarcasm Wow! Thanks for all the art crits, yeah I should move his arm up more so it looks more connected. /sarcasm Seriously, you can just whisper that to me. Also the way things are arranged doesn’t even really matter that much. It’s mostly done because I wanted to separate pixel art and other art. Please suggest stuff about my art since this is the art forum and not the arrange things in your post forum.

well the face looks good somehow

Good somehow? Well… I did spend time on it… and used things I learned about texture and colors. Referenced the mirror a lot. I have some stuff I made after reading something in the collaboration section. Will probably use them for a Galaga/Space Invaders clone.

Well, part of the reason I’m so fond of 3D modeling is because I never really got into it.

So, seeing something done that I don’t do at all is cool to me. XP

Last time I did 3D modeling stuff was in 7th grade in my tech class and I totally aced that section of our study. shrugs Still didn’t feel like getting into it much.

I’ll add the colors once I get ALL of the lines in. I need to stop slacking and get this stuff crack a lackin’.

I haven’t finished the lines yet. I’m working on those as we speak. It’s weird using flash, but not using objects. It makes the process harder but I like drawing each frame on it’s own. It’s becoming less common and it’ll be for an art college to look at and be impressed by. I don’t think they’d care how well I can use Flash so I’m taking my time trying to make each frame look decent.

Just to let you know, you can disable those in one of the menus. I don’t have Flash open right now to tell you which one though.

You turn down the smoothness when using the brush. Regardless flash doesn’t draw like other program, it’s vector based so I can’t edit things on a pixel level which can be a little frustrating. It really just takes a little more practice and some getting used to.

Made this, CS3 is a lot easier to work with than the previous versions.

i love your piratehead one, and was wondering if you could make me a suited character like that :D that would be great if you could…

You’ve got some incredible pixel art there, I also love the face you did in CS3 :).

I found CS3 was alot easier to use than previous versions when I first got it, plus some of the new features are so useful and easy to use :).

Suited Criminal, I don’t usually do requests because I keep myself busy with a good deal of freelance work (D: that can’t be posted until the projects are complete, NDA) which pays most of my bills. I’ll try to make you one but I can’t promise it will happen any time soon.

Titled, I’d would appreciate your opinion as an artist. The face is a little wonky and any advice or criticisms you have could only have me improve it.

Jindo, thanks. I used flash back when it was owned by macro media then stopped using it until recently. The tools work much better and the lines are smoother for the most part. I really like the changes from AS 2.0 to the 3.0 too. Over all it’s a big improvement I’m hoping to start taking advantage of.

Well, I like the hair and the yes. Kinda makes me think of Josh Hartnett, almost. XD

But there are a couple of things that look a little off, to me.

The big thing, really, is how long the face is. The mouth is SO far down on the face that it’s closer to being where the jawline should end, really.

The nose, also, the bridge, is too wide. Far too wide. Noses don’t usually go straight down like that, on the sides…

I think if you just cut away some of the middle part of the face (where the bridge of the nose is and the gap between the nose and the lips) you’d have a much more normal looking face. O:

And make ‘im shave. I hate facial hair. shivers XP

I was just 30 days of night, and Josh Hartnett was my inspiration. I’m glad you said that. I’m not going to use the excuse of that being my style, but it’s kind of may habit. I usually give characters big jaws and larger noses. I completely agree he shouldn’t have a tube nose and I was trying to hide the mouth in the facial hair. I’ll try to make an edit of it. Lower the nose down and move the mouth up a bit.

As for the facial hair, I love it. I grow a different beard every other month.

I HAVE taken your style into account with the long faces and noses…but still, dude…it’s like Rasputin in Anastasia where he’s falling apart and his lips just start sliding down his longass beard? Yeah, like that. XP

And eeewwww, facial hair.

Would it be alright if I posted a lil comparison thing I kinda did real quick? Just to show the basic idea of what I mean? >.o I’d like your permission, first, since it’s your art.
