Your Favorite MARDEK Moments

What are your favorite moments from any game of the series? These can be recurring themes, actual parts of the story, or observations about how a part of the story was handled.

Mine was bringing Legion to meet Mardek’s mom. After all the usual normal talk with the other characters, it just cracked me up.

I also liked how defeating the Sea Witch didn’t end the curse. Otherwise, it would’ve just been another boring quest. Although not truly original, it’s not the typical magical reset where everything’s better again.

For me, Elwyen’s P Dialogue with Mardek is HILARIOUS. I mean, she can’t be any clearer about her intentions, and yet he’s STILL clueless!

That was funny at first, but gets annoying after awhile. But her dialogue in lifewood is made of win.

The world saviors are always a bucket of laughs. I nearly fell off my chair the first time I encountered them in chapter 2

I also love how after Randolph chases Qualna into the Astral tunnel, Solaar starts explaining exactly what’s going on, but then realizes he’s blowing his cover, so feigns ignorance. (the exact wording on that was great)

But my all-time favorite Mardek moment is probably still the intro to chapter 1. The music, the dialogue, and everything is just great. I’ve probably replayed that at least a dozen times.

Although the thing I hate is when my files got deleted. Although, I’m going to start again and work harder!

I love all the RPG stereotype jokes but my favorite is during the trade quest when Mardek says “What is food?” That and Clavis’s rants about keystones and balance; they may not be funny but I think they’re kinda interesting.

I’m also gonna miss seeing Gaspar in the end sequences. :(

When i got my golden warport pass loved talking to the security gaurds.

The Dreamstones dialogue.

Especially: “It’s difficult, but I also feel like there’s a stronger feeling at work here than the one in my pants”.

Also, the “Sonny” series reference (or was that in CH2?), all the other sexual references and comments (abit too much in a Flash game, with no warning, but hilarious none-the-less), and the funny item descriptions, especially the potions and consumables.

Too much humor to list.

I liked the last battle in Chapter 3.

Also, Punk Monster’s description in the encyclopaedia.

I like the Guardian Battles,
The music is inspiring and the Battles are ‘’pretty hard’’ but i enjoy that,
Also i like the fact that Elwyen loves Mardek.

I like Moric since he’s just freaking creepy

i think i like that wind guy from anashar or something (the planet that Rohoph use to live on). now HE (or she) is creepy. i also love that mad soul in Legion’s body i mean talk to him in livewood “they’ll dig in my brain but won’t find any chocolate teehee” me O.O? = XD!

I’m not sure if there was one in Chpt. 2, but there was defiantly one in chapter 3 (the “zombie” outside the entrance to the sewers).

There were several amusing references to the early final fantasy games too, especially the 4th.

And generally speaking, Legion’s dialogue.

Mardek 3 is chocked full of humour, considerably more than the previous two. There are just too many moments to count/remember. So here are some that hopefully haven’t already been mentioned:

Aeropolis Palace Guard:
“NO EFFING FOREIGNERS IN THE PALACE!!!”

SPOILER WARNING!

Donovan: “I’m here for you, father! Hold on! You’ll make it! You’ll pull through! Save your strength!”
King: “Cliches cannot save me now, my son…”

Later…

Verhn: “Who’s up for a game of twister?!”
Elwyen: “Ooo! Me! Me!”
Donovan “My father is lying dead on the floor here.”
Verhn: “Well I guess he’ll have to sit this one out, then.”

Though I truly can’t count all the thing I like, there’s one particular item description which kept me laughing time and time again:
“A cap worn by lovely elves, and sometimes by young heroes who fight evil pig men.”

on the underground reptiod village: something about “reptoid porn, the good kind and not the cheap kind normaly found in bookstores. Oh Yes.”

In Mardek 2:
“I’m much more challenging than I look. I’m actually four people!”

Someone in Chapter 2 (Or maybe chapter 1, not sure), mentions a zombie waking up on a boat with a blind man. That is what I was referring to. But I guess there are multiple references.
