Last FM

Do you guys have a Last.Fm account? If not, make one :) and add me as a friend. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a site that records every song you listen to on your computer so you can see how many songs in total you listend to of every band in like a year. Pretty neat >>

I am somewhat of a LastFM addict. I am new to Flash games though. Discovered this site via Digg and this is my first post! :) I actually am glad I discovered this site because I am a Linux geek and it is always helpful to find new simple and quick gaming experiences. I know there are other sites and avenues out there for flash-based games, but the community focus here sold me. I hope this is the beginning of a long and enjoyable membership! :D

That’s crazy Crypto. I’ve had Last.FM for 2 years (only 11,074 plays though). I discovered this site via Digg, and then is my first post. And I’m also (kinda) a linux geek (Ubuntu).

why does everybody like last.fm? i only ever get sucky 30 second song feeds from them. or do you get full song downstream when you become a member..?

tony, you are correct. Most of the song feeds from Last.fm are 30-second previews (unless you listen to the last.fm radio). There are still some full songs (which I believe you can find on the free download page). I personally like Last.fm because I can use it to see my music taste and statistics of the music I listen to, and also to find users who have a similar music taste to mine. It seems that people use Last.fm for different reasons, but it is a very popular site. However, I preferred the old Last.fm website and software, before they made aesthetic changes to the site and combined two software applications into one.

Um, IDK what you guys are talking about, but I get full songs. Since they were bought out by some news corporation, though, I’ve stopped listening. Now I just use VLC media player.

Anyways. Last.fm finally has a wide variety of full songs and albums, but only if you play them through the in-page flash player. Also, it is sadly only available to UK, US and Germany right now. However, they’re working on adding this to the desktop client. This means you can play albums before actually buying them. No more terrible music album regrets =P

There will probably or already is privileges involving this feature for subcribers [glares at Fragm3nt]. I’m taking advantage of the new feature right now, by listening to Foo Fighter’s new album since so many of my friends think it’s great.
