This topic is on some of the most Overrated bands (of course). Share what you think and I’ll share what I think.

U2: Great band, but not as great as people think.

Led Zeppelin: Honestly hate it. I do not like a single ONE of their songs.

So just share some of the bands that people say are so great but… really aren’t.

Nirvana, Oasis, Metallica, The Killers, RHCP (post Californication), to name but a few.

Metallica aren’t overrated, more selling out!

The Beatles and Fall Out Boy are two that come to mind immediately for me. Never liked The Beatles. And while Fall Out Boy has a few catchy tunes, I don’t think they’re as awesome as some people make them out to be.

Guns N Roses

^ What?! How is Guns N Roses overrated? Bands like the ones td21 named are overrated: Korn, SOAD, Nirvana, Panic At the Disco, and certainly Hannah Montana. GNR has way more talent then all those bands combined.

THAT is an excellent point, and The Beatles are one of the best bands of their time. Also I’m listening to Muse right now.

It’s actually a very un-excellent point. The very definition of an overated band is a band that you think is overrated. i.e. A band everyone else likes but you don’t. This makes it an opinion, and peoples’ opinions differ and so you may not agree with what someone else thinks is an overrated band. This does not make them wrong or arrogant though. Everyone has a right to an opinion.

Overrated = considered ‘better’ than ‘deserved’, whatever you want to mean by that. Basically meaningless in the context of subjective music preference, which is how better translates here.

Actually GNR have almost no talent. None of those other bands do either. All suck.

Anyways, The Beatles = most overrated band ever. Followed by Metallica, Blink 182, Green Day, Rage Against the Machine, and Dragonforce
