I listen to a lot of other music, but those are my favorites/ones who inspired lots of other bands.

I never thought metal fell under rock music. I mean sure it used to be called hard rock back in Black Sabath’s days but it now considers itself and entirely different genre. What I mean is bands like DragonForce, Coheed and Cambria, Metallica, and Anthrax don’t belong. Iron Maiden can stay just because they have been through the hard rock era and still playing strong through the metal era. Ok well now that im done with my histroy lesson…

P.S. I think dragonforce says the phrase “through the fire and flames” in nearly all of their songs on inhuman rampage.

Nice ideas people. Metal and rock are different, but they are also similar in some respects.

They are different, but they are still the same in a lot of ways.

You’ve have a serious problem nader (a does not equal 1. snicker, snicker.) Atreyu eats CCR for lunch and then takes a huge dump a few hours later.

The fact that TDF’s and sprint’s posts were so close together made me laugh. Anyways just to clarify, yes the both use a guitar, drums, a bass, and a singer. That’s basically where the similarities end. You wont find queen singing about gouging someone’s eyes out and then having sex with their eye sockets. Now slayer, they would. Yes metal derived itself from rock but metal soon after outgrew it.
