Adventurer trophy has so much attack because of its incredibly short range, which will cause you to kill slower than other weapons that have less attack but more range.
Fusing PS3 + SMG was a popular choice due to the relatively cheap crafting costs and high speed+attack of this combo.
Nowadays most people go for a Pyrabow+Evil Sword fuse, since this is also cheap and very powerful for its cost. Both of these weapons can be obtained by completing the Dark Pyramid raid.

1. It has very, very short range and is timed with no life rocks.
2. The two weapons are relatively cheap and SMG gives you the speed and PS3 gives you good attack for the level/rank.

1. It’s range is very short, so the high attack is out-weighed by the fact that it takes forever for monsters to reach you. It’s an acceptable alternative in some situations, but will usually be out-classed by something with better range.
2. SMG has very high base speed, and PS3 has reasonably high attack. If you fuse the two, you get decent speed, and decent attack. It also has to do with both being very cheap. It’s a decent weapon mostly anyone can obtain.
However, most people now seem to recommend pyrabow / evil sword fusions instead.
EDIT: DOUBLE NINJA! xD

since I don’t want to read 267 pages of comments… looked at my money printer (level 22, with the upgraded battery). it produces 7,150 coins per machine activation as advertised – but it uses 5 charges instead of 1 (so on a fully charged machine, I get 7,150*40 = 286,000 coins rather than 7,150×200 (which it says when the thing is fully charged) = 1,430,000.
this looks like a bug, but wanted to verify before submitting as such.

actually, correction: the money printer charge count goes 200,195,190,185,180,175,170,165,160,159,158…
why is it screwing me out of ~30 activations?

That’s super battery. If you have more than 160 charges your battery will deplete faster. Since battery charges determine how fast is your print speed, this was designed so that to keep maximum print speed you’ll have to always be around to recharge it. So that means that in truth you have 168 * 7,150 (which is exactly what feature shop tells you when it says “+8 charges”).
edit: please don’t double post. Use “edit post” feature next time.

No you gain a small amount each day depending on what the event is, normally you gain 30 on a regular day and 40 on the weekend. You can also get some quest tokens from attendance boxes and from daily quests.

Just came back to the game after a long time away — what is “ascension” and how do I “ascend”?

Both of your questions are answered in my ascension guide, which you can find here. You can also find the answer in the sticky “List of Abbreviations / Terms” under “Game terms – General / Features”.
If you have questions, try taking a look in the sticky “User Made Guides/Helpful Threads” and see if there is a guide about that particular thing. There usually is, and the answer you are looking for is most likely there =)

i raised my epic skills for the first time:
-double progress to lvl5
-money mastery to lvl5
ive been watching my exp, yellow and green coins and my message box for quite a while, but didnt see any effect (like insta-progress message or 100 green coins gain)
however, i seem to get the the messages:
-yay, free boost (plus 5% progress boost)
-yay, free boost (plus 5% EXP boost)
this looks like a reward from boost charger epic skill while that is still lvl0
i thought about checking here first before rushing to the report a bug feature

The “Yay, free boost” things are completly random, non-epic skills thing. Nice that you asked there first.

Epic skills have no breaking news notification as far as I know. If you look in the list under “options”, you’ll see none of the channels are called “Epic Skills”.

ah, it took a while before i understood aurian, sorry. it does make sense
there’s still the part where i never see a +100 flashing above my green coins when i claim a reward, its always 15 (or 9 in idle mode)

Double Progress and Money Mastery are fairly hard to tell if they activated or not.
For Money Master you could activate EXP / Coin gain and try to detect if after claiming the reward there is a +X coins that matches the amount stated on the epic skill.
Double progress should be detectable by looking at rewards claimed notification in breaking news. Measure roughly how long each reward takes for you, and see if the messages come with that duration between. If the skill activated, there should be two messages that are too close together to not be Epic Skill induced.
However, I’d personally just trust that the game works and that you are getting effect from the skills.

Is idle fishing a good way to quickly gain xp at lvl 4150? I currently idle in dragon cave. I suppose I’m asking for the best way to gain xp while idling.
Edit: Also, when do you unlock the spooky crypt daily quest?

Personally, I wouldnt focus all that much on Fishing right now, or buy too many Skills in it because it gets really, really expensive very fast.
You need the Spooky Key which you get from throwing To-Be-Nerfed gems at the Pyramid entrance. I think you need to throw 100 at a time, but I’m not entirely sure.

Try idling in Smiley Island, use EXP green bonuses maybe, make sure you got Combo Reward and stuff like that maxed, encounter ring. Idle Fishing is fail compared to active fishing
