According to this news from Adobe they're gonna stop updating and distributing flash. Chrome and Mozilla will also disable it at the end of 2020 according to this
https://www.blog.google/products/chrome/saying-goodbye-flash-chrome/
"Chrome will continue phasing out Flash over the next few years, first by asking for your permission to run Flash in more situations, and eventually disabling it by default. We will remove Flash completely from Chrome toward the end of 2020."
https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2017/07/25/firefox-roadmap-flash-end-life/
"Flash will be disabled by default for most users in 2019, and only users running the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) will be able to continue using Flash through the final end-of-life at the end of 2020. In order to preserve user security, once Flash is no longer supported by Adobe security patches, no version of Firefox will load the plugin."
What does this mean for Anti-Idle The Game? I am still planning on playing this amazing game in 3 years and was wondering if the only way possible is going to be with a swf player and without a chat room of our wonderful community. How panicked should I be?
What does this mean for Anti-Idle Reborn since it will also be made in flash?

That is a bit earlier than expected. I'll definitely be looking into a workaround and possibly other platforms as well. It's probably going to take time, but rest assured I'm not giving up!
I will make the sequel using another language, but the current Anti-Idle will likely become playable only by an swf player, unless by some magic a converter is made to convert Flash to another format that's compatible.
This looks like it is really going to hurt Kongregate as well since most games will become unplayable...

Hi,
After putting some more thoughts into it, I've decided that once Flash games are no longer playable using major browsers, I will provide a downloadable version of the game (with standalone Flash player) and the Kongregate version will be declared dead unless Kongregate comes up with a solution to preserve old Flash games on the site.
There are no plans to port Anti-Idle: The Game (not the sequel) to another language, as even if I do, your progress will likely be reset which is very undesirable. Besides, it will take a lot of time, and the golden era of Anti-Idle is over long ago, so overall it is not really worth the effort.
The sequel I'll look into developing it using a more modern language, however, it will take more time. Until then, I will practice using that language to make simpler games.
Thank you for your understanding, and I apologize for any inconvenience.

What if you make an HTML5 version? HTML is going nowhere, and many other games on kong are HTML and have their own websites

@axislord
TLDR: Changing AI:TG into HTML5 from flash will result in unusable savefiles and too much of a hassle with the current technology.
>Tukkun: Many people may be asking, "why don't you port this to HTML5 or some kind of format that will still be supported after Flash dies?" The answer is, unfortunately, things are not that simple. Porting is not like clicking a button and you're done - you essentially have to learn a new language and then reprogram the entire thing from scratch. And even then, your savefile will be erased and you will have to start from level 1 without any ascensions. That is really undesirable, and as much as Flash is an outdated technology, I will keep Anti-Idle in Flash. [Tukkun's blog](http://www.tukkun.net/apps/blog/show/44686219)
