As long as you still can only have one active def deck and you cannot choose between Fight and Surge mode, it is a good idea to have a decent single def deck suited for both purposes.
Three Do’s
- Do use Dracorex if you have one. Dracorex is probably the best investment for 25 WBs and it gives your def deck the best chances in Fight mode. And let us face it, your def deck will need every bit of chances it can get in Fight mode.
- Do use as many cards with Evade as you can. Evade counters strike/enfeeble rush and neutralizes two most important weapons in any human player’s arsenal: Airstrike and EMP.
- Do use multiple copies of the same card. When will the computer play as well as yourself, or even the best TWM player? When all 3 cards in hand are the same. So keep it simple for the stupid computer, shall we?
Three Dont’s
- Don’t use rush decks. Rush decks have almost 0% win rate when playing second. We don’t want just hand over all Fight games to our enemies. Let them work for their victories and maybe sweat a tiny bit.
- Don’t use action cards. Action cards and autoplay simple don’t mix. The stupid computer will waste the most awesome action card in your deck against absolutely nothing! Save them for your off deck.
- Don’t try to counter everything. The sad truth is, the great deck which counters everything actually counters nothing. Because no card can counter everything. Even there is such a “God” card. You will only be able to put one in your deck. Now how would the stupid computer know when to play all these “perfect counter” cards?
Okay, once the princeples are clear, let’s see some sample def decks.
Dracorex, Gatling Tower x3, Azure Reaper x7
Azure Reapers are great, aren’t they? Who don’t love them? But they are only great when they are active. So the hope is, an early tower will weaken, strike and jam your enemy for 3 turns, then your reapers take over the offensive.
Dracorex, Missile Silo x3, Colossus x7
The concept is pretty simple. The triple silos is the hammer, while all the colossi is the anvil. Every fallen Colossus will buy you a turn or more, until missiles start to rain on your enemy.
Dracorex, Blood Wall x3, Pummeller x7
This is a variation from the more popular PumPool deck. It trades staying power for more speed. And if your pummellers manage to take out all your enemy’s siege cards before they destroy all your walls, you can force a draw.
Dracorex, Xeno Fortress x3, Vaporwing x7
Dracorex’s Weaken All 1 meets Armor 2, plus Flying and Evade. What else can you ask for your defense team? Hit back harder and faster? Well, a fortress or two can definitely help you with that.
Until next time. Dylan out.

Well, the blood wall/pummeller deck is relatively cheap. And besides Dracorex, it only needs gold.

The first ‘Do’ needs to be excluded from anything running Counter.
Dracorex + Counter is one of the easiest decks around to beat.
Also, for the second ‘Do’. You might want to note that, all the examples you’ve listed, are probably all of the decent cards with Evade that can be run in multiples……
The third ’Don’t’ is very good advice though. AI sucks and it is often better to focus your deck on beating a limited scope of decks.
Like how (in general) Rush counters Slowrolls, Counters beat Rushes, Structures beat anything without Siege and so on.
