Sepultura – The Hunt
Chuck Billy – Seek & Destroy
I liked it. It’s difficult to cover a song, but this was impressive. I like the originally slightly better (because I am old?), so I’m sticking with Metallica.
Los Gatos Locos-Hunting Humans
Added.
Robot Lords of Tokyo – Off to War
Megadeth – Symphony of Destruction
Added.
The Vibrators – Disco In Mosco
Asphyx – M.S. Bismarck
Grave – In Love
Russian Circles – Geneva
Stoner Train – Spacelord
Long Time Dead – Jack Rabbit Slim
Added. I love the rockabilly sound!
A lot of these songs were new to me, so this was a lot of fun to listen to some new music. Thanks! This little project is turning out to be even more fun than I expected! It’s tending towards heavy metal, though, and I am going to try to balance it out. That might be tough, however, because there are not a lot of waltzes or pop songs with a war theme. :)
Check out more Russian Circles if u like it:p

Neil Young – Are you ready for country
Great lyric
I was talking to the preacher.
Said God was on my side.
And then I ran into the hang man,
he said it’s time to die.
You gotta tell your story boy.
You knew the reason why.

Some players remind me of a frustrated celtics commentator (start at 1:11):

Yeah, I put War on the list, and a couple of songs by the band “War”, too. :)
OMG, that commentator must be a Tyrant player!

The album version on Spotify has better production quality (of course), and it’s pretty good. I added it.

Are you guys able to see the list of songs I have so far? The link is in the first post and here:
http://open.spotify.com/user/hunterhogan/playlist/7nWMKfmEomM9iJx5n4z0nr
Spotify licenses vary by country, so my guess is that if you don’t live in the US, then you might not be able to listen to every song on my list. If you don’t know about Spotify and it is available in your country, it is not a substitue for Pandora because it is not very good at suggesting new songs. Instead, it is a fantastic way to get access to tons of music and build your own playlists. The free version has commercials, but I still like Spotify a lot—I haven’t found anything to rival it. (But I also haven’t spent much time on last.fm. On the other hand, Spotify integrates with last.fm—something about scrobbling; whatever that means.)

Sum41 – WWVII Parts 1 & 2
pretty good song, though imo, the intro lasts a bit long
Dragonforce – Cry Thunder
Guitar’s sound great in this song, vocals finish it.
Avenged Sevenfold – Danger Line
Great song, good lyrics.
Avenged Sevenfold – Gunslinger
Another great song by A7X.
Dragonforce – Prepare for War
really good song, nice lyrics, much different from cry thunder.
Dragonforce – Valley of the Damned
another great Dragonforce song, again war related.
Dragonforce – Where Dragons Rule
I really love this intro, and the song itself is also very good.
I know these songs are not mainstream, but so are most in this topic. Enjoy!

Added Fight Fire With Fire.
War Ensemble by Slayer was literally the first song I put on the list, and it will almost certainly be the heaviest song on the list. For those of you who don’t like, or even hate, any type of metal, I recommend that you listen to the album Seasons in the Abyss by Slayer, and listen with an open mind. First, let me mention that I don’t like Slayer as a band—this is their only album that I like. Second, I generally dislike most sub-genres of Heavy Metal that are harder than 80s-style Metallica. I don’t like thrash, death metal, or black metal.
Nevertheless, this album is one of the last great albums made. In the MP3 age, no one makes albums any more, but this album was fantastically written and produced and each song fits perfectly. There are songs I really like and a couple I don’t like, but the album is still great and there are some individual songs that demonstrate serious artistic talent. I define art is anything that forces you to feel a specific feeling. Seasons in the Abyss is dark, scary, and menacing. If you are listening to the album, you cannot help but feel these emotions, and Slayer doesn’t use cheap tricks or gimmicks to make you feel this way—the music, lyrics, and rhythm blend and force you to feel these emotions. That is art.
War Ensemble is not the best song on the album, but it is raw and realistic, and it is a no-holds-barred presentation of war. The movie, Saving Private Ryan, was a great movie and many WW II veterans said it was too real in that it forced them to think about the evils of war that they had not to deal with in 40 years. Just like that movie, I think this song and album are art.
At any rate, if you like music for the sake of music, and you don’t normally listen to heavy metal, you might be surprised at the genius of Seasons in the Abyss by Slayer.

Yeah, I couldn’t decide if I should put this on the list. It’s actually pretty difficult to make a 6-hour playlist, so I’m going to put it in.

I can see why Avenged Sevenfold has such rabid fans, this song is pretty good, and it fits the theme. But I need to find a lot more stuff that is not metal.
