hello2727 has an awesome idea. My mother in law is a survivor, along with my cousin and my niece. This is great, and the word should be spread in any way possible. Love the women in your lives.

What’s wrong with posting this on an online MMO forum?
If you don’t want to be aware of breast cancer, don’t read the post. If you don’t want to support people with breast cancer, continue to live your life as is.

Why just breast cancer? Does it have some significance over other cancers? Feel bad for people with lung cancer cause it will be a while till they get any help.

Risk factors for breast cancer (stuff you can’t affect crossed out):
Being female.
Increasing age.
A family history of breast cancer.
Inherited genes that increase cancer risk.
Radiation exposure.
Obesity.
Prolonged exposure to sex hormones (progesterone) as caused by:
(i) time span of reproductive fertility (beginning menstruation early, entering menopause late).
(ii) Postmenopausal hormone therapy.
Having your first child at an older age.
Drinking alcohol.
So what you can do aside from getting screened periodically is:
1. Lose weight. Don’t be fat/obese.
2. Avoid hormone therapies (but consult with your doctor).
3. Don’t have children late in life.
4. Get wasted less.
Somehow #1 and #4 don’t strike most people as being particularly attractive.
Not a risk/prevention factor for breast cancer:
1. wearing pink stuff.
2. changing conquest tiles to pink.
(3. emotional support from internet forum duds.)

This is why I love LDV’s posts. They have citations! :D
(Also I suspect Tyrant players constitute a sufficiently sophisticated audience to appreciate salient points despite venue of online MMO forum.)

Tell me, would we do this every month to bring awareness to every cause? How about ______ awareness week or ______ awareness day? How about we just play this game and show awareness with time & money donated which is really what they need.
