A few users have reported seeing code-only ads like this (courtesy of microchip08):

If you see one of these, or have seen one recently, please post here and give us some information so we can try to track it down:
- Operating System (including version if you know it)
- Browser(s) (including version, especially for IE)
- Any unusual or aggressive plugins (like AdBlockPlus, NoScript, FlashBlock, etc.)
- How often does it happen?
- If you can, grabbing the embed code (see instructions here) with Firebug or another inspector tool would be very helpful so we can track and see if it’s a common ad provider or not.
Thanks!

I’m not sure if this will help, but about 5 minutes after the maintenance I saw that instead of an ad.

Per our email:
FireFox 3.6.3
Adblock plus, kongregate.com whitelisted
It was happening every time in the blank profiles, but it’s not happening anymore. Haven’t seen it again since I emailed you.

Windows XP
Firefox 5.0
Nien
I get it every ~10 pages (not counting)
google_ad_client = “pub-2543721856801245”; google_ad_width = 728; google_ad_height = 90; google_ad_format = “728×90_as”; google_ad_type = “text_image”; //2007-12-03: www.kongregate.com/games google_ad_channel = “7923589439”; google_color_border = “DDDDDD”; google_color_bg = “FFFFFF”; google_color_link = “990000”; google_color_text = “000000”; google_color_url =

Here’s another:

In the evil game that is The Unfair Platformer.
The underlying HTML (quote to view, for some reason the forums are stripping it):
<iframe width="300" scrolling="no" height="250" frameborder="0" id="google_ads_iframe_/1019038/ca-pub-2543721856801245/kong_game_bf_300x250" name="google_ads_iframe_/1019038/ca-pub-2543721856801245/kong_game_bf_300x250" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" style="border: 0pt none;"></iframe>
And the outputted code:
function TFclick1303378997_DoFSCommand(command, args){ if (command == tf_click_command1303378997 && tf_use_embedded_flash_url1303378997 == 1) { window.open(tf_click1303378997+args,'_blank'); } else if (command == tf_click_command1303378997 && tf_append_fscmd_args_to_click1303378997 == 1) { window.open(tf_clickURL1303378997+args,'_blank'); } else if (command == tf_click_command1303378997 ||

Thanks for the information everyone – this will help us find patterns in the broken ads.
Also, for those providing code/screenshots, I thank you, but please check out this post for details on what we actually need to identify the ads. They all come through google, but we need to see which ad network specifically is serving it. Jim describes how to find it in that thread.

I couldn’t get the tracking part because I’m on Chrome and I only know how to use Firefox’s editor thingy. I got it on this page.
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit
Browser: Google Chrome, newest version
Add-ons: None
It happened just once, but when I clicked a couple random things on Chrome’s editor thingy it just fixed itself.
Embed code: Sorry, unavailable. ;__;

Hope it helps.
