This stride ad keeps looping it’s audio when i start a game, on every game.

I know dude. Same happening to me. It’s freaking annoying, and Stride isn’t that great anyway. I don’t want to hear some idiotic commercial about gum repeated over and over. Please fix this. Fast. |
This is really getting annoying! On every game, the audio is completely ruined by this ad… same with the audio on youtube videos I am trying to enjoy in a different tab. Kongregate, REMOVE THIS AD >:O |
yup, fix it. even after the game starts it wont shut up. |
Happening to me too. Please fix ASAP! |
omg i have a terrible urge to never buy stride now |
Yeah… this is a great way to alienate users AND people who chew gum. Anyone here want to bet how long before the big K adds “premium users” (paying customers) and “guests” (non paying) and one group gets to skip adverts? |
This is annoying. Now I can’t chat without losing my train of thought, I can’t listen to any music on my CPU, and I swear to God if I hear it one more time, I’m going to burn the nearest 7/11 to the ground. |
If you open up your volume mixer, you can mute the browser volume and still listen to a media player. |
I’m not sure what I did, but I managed to prevent the ad from loading by switching to Windows Media Player and fooling around with the volume. I did this a couple times, so it may be related to WMP or it may just be a coincidence. Still, it might help someone be able to listen to their game without the Stride. |
Worse, I just tried to play Music Catch and the game is having a conflict with the ad audio and refuses to start until I “close my other Flash window.” So lame, bad enough the ads are there at all, but this is intolerable. |
YEah this is driving me nuts, really want to punch whoever invented yodeling after this. |
For the love of god, I’m in Alsatian hell… |
Twitch wow, this is amazingly long lasting… just like stride… … … oh wait. smacks forehead |
This Ad sucks! |
i have the same issue with the looping stride ad. I’m using IE7 and Vista (yeah i know) if that helps recreate the problem. |
Tested on a different computer; the stride ad does not loop using firefox on XP but does still have problems with Internet Explorer on the XP machine. This makes me a sad panda because I cannot install firefox on this computer. |
Not totally off topic: the Ads by Google at the bottom of the page is for StrideGum.com. Are they taking over?? |
argh.. voices in my head. yodelers shall pay ! |
Couple of things guys: The admins will fix it, just wait for them to wake up, first :P |
No they won’t. There is a sponsored contest on kongregate and the ad will show up as part of the sponsorship contract. I guess it will last untill the contest has finished.
I’m pretty sure they are awake and know about the problem already. They just don’t dare to admit it because they can’t fix it anyway. (or at least, not before they’ve send a few hunderd requests to stride to get another ad)
As far as I know, still 70% of the computers still use IE.
We’re actually blaming kongregate because they accepted the sponsorship. Now kongregate is doomed with that ad until the sponsorship has ended. |
Yes, they will. It breaks games. They’ll resolve it. |
Admins are supposed to be up and at work at 6 oclock? Wow. What a task master(slave driver :P ) you would make. Adverts are not meant to do that to the game. The advert will still be there, obviously, but they will try to get rid of the sound looping. |
They’ll fix it to stop users leaving, which is worse than no add rev.
They can fix it, they are ADMINS they can do whatever they want.
In fact, blame microsoft if you are 100% sure. |
It’s not about ad revenue, but about the contract with stride, which kongregate is bound to. (note that I have no proff that there is a contract, but this happened by axe and scion too, so I guess there is a conctract)
Sure, they CAN remove it, but then they’ll be sued by stride – which may be even worse than losing users.
Strange, my knowledge of statistics seems really outdated (by about 4 years). Anyway, 37.5% is still a lot.
I think we should blame micosoft for making stupid software, stride for making an ad that bugs for 37.5% of the people, and kongregate for accepting the sponsorship. |
