10 MB

What’s with all these games where chat.kongregate.com suddenly demands 10 MB of storage on my computer?

Even some games that worked fine before this started happening (Frontier) are no longer able to save my progress, while random others work regardless.

Is this the result of a recent update I don’t know about?

It’s possible that you recently exceeded the storage limit directly below 10 MB (which I believe is 1 MB) and you need to increase your storage limit in order to continue saving progress. Another benefit of increasing the storage size of Kongregate games is that certain games (one good example is Cell Warfare) require unlimited storage in order to eliminate lag.

In other words do this:

1. Right click on any game
2. Select Settings…
3. Choose the yellow folder
4. Drag the slider fully to the right, so the flash player has unlimited storage

This should do the trick :)

Indeed – it’s not that an individual game is needing more space, it’s that you’ve played enough games that you’ve filled up the 1MB of storage space. Considering computers are starting to be sold with terabytes of data, and very few modern computers have less than 40GB or so of storage space, I can pretty much guarantee you won’t notice it if you bump up to 10MB of storage. ;)
