Hello!
I tried to change my profile, but the site returned the following error message:
”422 Knock it off!”

I did nothing bad, what should I stop?

More information:
”HTTP 422 Unprocessable Entity (WebDAV) (RFC 4918)
The request was well-formed but was unable to be followed due to semantic errors.”
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thanks,
flyordie

Well have you retried to edit your profile again? It could always just be that a parameter malformed randomly.

I tried it many times. I got this message once or twice at registration, too.

I just wanted to upload an 1024×768, 606kB avatar and set my gender to Male. If I try to just upload the picture, or just set my gender, I still get this error.

Try logging out and back in, and see if it works then. If it still doesn’t work, clear your kongregate-cookies completely…

I logged out and in, nothing changed.
I deleted all my browsing data, like history, downloads, cache, cookies, form data, still nothing changed.

Is Javascript allowed/activated on the “edit profile”-page? If not, activating it should fix the problem.
If it is already activated, replace the URL-bar on the “edit profile”-page with

javascript:alert(active_user.formAuthenticityToken())

Then press enter and see if it alerts something (if it does, don’t post what it alerts!)

It alerts some random letters, numbers and symbols. Is that good or bad?

That’s how it should be. I think LastPass might be causing that problem, try disabling it.

flyordie – have you tried uploading any different files? I’m not sure what our limits are, but I know at some point we prevent files from being uploaded for being too big. Also, perhaps the file is corrupt and confusing our servers. Either way, try uploading another file to see if that helps.

EDIT: Hmm…you said you get the same error just when changing your gender? Same goes for any other edit on the page?

Yes, I can change nothing. I also get this error when trying to change my account settings.

You were right! LastPass caused the problem! But now, where will I store my passwords?

Is there any way to disable LastPass for forms on specific pages? If so, you should disable the autocompletion of forms on Kongregate, since every form you submit dynamically requests a token which identifies you. So if LastPass pre-fills that token, it’s an old/wrong one…

I ticked Respect AutoComplete=off: allow websites to disable AutoFill in Advanced Settings, and now I can use LastPass without seeing this error. :)

I certainly needed to resize the picture to 100×75 :)

This also happens if you try to enter a new account on Kongregate with a proxy.

Or if you make a new account with javascript off etc, etc. Why should I want to sign up if I get treated badly with no explanation? At least it wasn’t caps, just a very large font.

1. Did you check the age of this post?
2. You triple posted, reported for that.
3. Resize with some image editor, such as Gimp.
4. “Knock it off!” message can also be caused by proxies, such as hidemyass.com.

Juze: Bumping an old topic is ok if you have the same problem and can’t solve it. And no need to report for a triple post, flagging the posts is enough.

Transformice_Blue: Make sure you have Javascript enabled. You could also try using a different browser.
And please don’t post more than once in a row, there’s an “Edit post” link next to/below your avatar.
