Can't load API on Clockwords: Prelude

Other games are working fine, but when I try to play Clockwords, the API is acting like I’m not logged in – it comes up with the badges tab and asks me to sign in or register. The connection symbol is red.

If I click on any links in that window (say, the easy badge), the whole page scrolls down to that point, and the flash movie jumps up out of the box it’s in.

Also, the star rating and comments don’t load on the page.

This worked fine for me last night, and I’ve tried some other games and had no problems. I tried clearing all my Kongregate cookies and logging back in, but no change.

I’m using Windows 7 and Firefox.

Also, I just tried using the Chrome browser, and exactly the same thing happens.

Only for Clockworks? This seems odd.. Do you have any internet filters that could cause this somehow? Can you post a screenshot?

Actually, I think I’ve figured out what’s causing it. It’s the ad for Magic that’s playing on some games. I tried to load up Trap Master, same ad, same problem. Reloaded a couple of times and didn’t get the ad, and Trap Master works.

It just seems like every time I load Clockwords I get that ad, and have the problems I’ve listed.

Yep, reloaded Clockwords a bunch of times, eventually that ad didn’t come up, and everything has loaded fine, I can play now.

That’s very odd – I haven’t heard any other reports of this. Has anyone else had problems connecting when that ad appears?

I don’t believe I have ever seen that ad.

Phoenix: I heard of at least 2 other reports about problems with that specific ad.

Ah, that’s not good…we’ll check it out and see if it’s something widespread or perhaps just a small incompatibility with a certain browser or setup. Thanks for the heads-up and the detailed and thorough testing! :)

I am getting this exact problem with Mushroom Revolution. I tried it in all browsers but I can’t connect with API and the side panel is broken. Also comments don’t appear either.

You may already know, but this is still a problem, at least for me with Windows 7 (64 bit)/Firefox (3.5.5). I just got the ad when trying to load up Protector, and had the same problem again.

Obviously it’s not the worst problem now I’ve realised I can get around it by reloading, but it’s a little irritating as the ad seems to come up repeatedly, so it can take a while to get past it. Also, it might be more of a problem for someone who doesn’t realise what’s causing it!
