I have had this problem for some time now, but I just blamed it on devs, Kongregate and anyone else in earshot. The problem seems to be with the flash player. Firstly key presses are not being treated as they should, they ether “stick” or “rapid fire” depending on the game, also the graphics “flash” in some games. And that dragon age game thing fails to run after loading, it just gives a blank screen.

Help!

(I’m using Ubuntu 9.10 and Firefox 3.5.something)

This is for problems with the site, you’re better off asking in an ubuntu forum.

It’s also for asking about common problems for all games, so I’m safe :P

32 or 64bit?
If 64bit:
- is your flashplugin running in nspluginwrapper?
- 32 or 64bit browser?
- what does about:plugins say about your flashplugin?
32bit:
- swfdec/gnash installed?

32bit I think…

And none of those packages are installed, should they be?

Check it to be sure:

uname -m

x86_64 means 64bit, x86/i386/similar means 32bit.

No, those packages should not be installed. Also please post the output of about:plugins regarding the flash player.

Looks good so far. The flickering is quite normal for some games (I’ve got the same problem here too). Do you have it in every game, or just some specific games?
The key-press-stuff might be due to your keyboard settings. Check System → Settings → Keyboard for the “repeat keys” checkbox. If you disable it, it should work in all games. But again, this should only be an issue in some games (i.e. Bunny Charm and MoneySeize), but not others.

About Dragon Age: Did you try clearing your cache yet? As I said in the other thread, absolutely no problems with that game here.

It was checked…
After unchecking it the games seem to work! Thanks.

Though dragonage still doesn’t…

Hmm… I can run it via Opera in Wine (or Wine in Opera), but not create an account…
