Left 4 Dead Zombie/Survivor Message

I get redirected to a url, that says this on the page when I infect someone. Is that supposed to happen? It seems really cheap of Kong just to show a pathetic message like that with no graphics, branding, or anything.

Message:

{"remaining":1,"message":"You successfully infected ****** as a zombie and earned a point! You can infect 1 more person today."}

It shouldn’t happen. It’s likely it’s been patched now. And before calling them cheap, I’m sure they didn’t intend on that happening.

Usually, refreshing the page fixes the problem. It only happened to me once. I refreshed the page and everything turned back to normal.

People train you or infect you. For example, someone trained me as a survivor.

Community > Change Avatar.

That won’t help since the L4D-avatar is an overlay, it doesn’t replace your existing avatar. To get your old avatar back, you have to opt out here

i can’t swicht to my old avatar when i do the browse thing and i save and it stays on the zombie avatar

Yes, I’m having the same issue. Whenever I train someone I have to click back and them refresh. (Haven’t tried refreshing on the page it redirects me to)

If it helps, I’m using Firefox, with Adblock Plus. Windows Vista. I’m not sure what version of FireFox, but it’s whatever the latest version is.

IE8. Of course it has problems, but it redirected me to an entirely new page. Check your coding. Also, note that the message had “{” and “}” in it. That might help pinpoint the error.

You seem to have removed the message, however, now when I infect others it redirects me to the “can’t find page” that Kongregate has.

i need help ok i was forced to join survivers and now i want to be infected so i opted out and now i can’t join infected or survivers and can’t be forced into em anymore i need help or this surviver zombie thing is a major rip-off

Just an update to the original question: this is a problem in IE (confirmed in IE7 on my end). We’re looking into fixing it.

Also, the “can’t find page” errors that you’re seeing UnknownGuardian should be fixed very soon, if not already. Thanks for the report.

It wasn’t really relevant to the topic. I was responding to the original post.

However, if you’ve opted out, the only way you can get back in is to select one of the custom avatars from this page and use that to become a zombie or survivor.

How do you become a survivor after you’ve become a zombie?
