Multiple Accounts

After chastising someone for having multiple accounts I realised that I was merely assuming that the rule applied here.

Now obviously it’s sensible to stop people creating more than one account. The vast majority of other websites I’ve used/ run/ modded and dev’d for do it and I assumed it would be the same here.

But before I go telling people not to do it I thought it best to seek clarification as there was nothing prominent in the guidelines.

So to sum up my query in a sentence:

“Are we allowed multiple user accounts, and if we are isn’t that a bit of an oversight?”

Opinions of non-staff welcome but I’m more interested in clarification from an authority than debate.

Yes, it is allowed. There are users known for their many alts, like HappyAlcoholic.

Yeah I’ve seen mods give the go ahead but has the issue been raised with admin?

Mods are there to enforce the rules not make them.

Just seems a bit off.

There is Emily Greer and there is EmilyG

ITs perfectly fine to have alts, its what you do with them that raises the issue, and a lot of users have alts, I myself have several :P
